Re: c/o 2019 Applicant Compendium (2015 - 2016)
It certainly exists, although I've never seen anyone actually drink one (why would you mix lager and cider? Maybe it would work...). Typically the best thing to order at any pub is whatever ale/cider is most local imoHildegard15 wrote:My sister told me that I should order a snakebite while in the UK. Is that right or am I mis-remembering the name? I made a mistake last time I was at a bar and ordered an old-fashioned (which is what my sister drinks) instead of one of the drinks she recommended for me. I never want that to happen again.scone wrote:Kopparberg's Swedish! I'm sorry that happened to you, it really sucks. I would give it at least a two to four week cool-off period. You'll have some time to get organized and plan your next steps. Hopefully, your update will be that you changed jobs (and you'll give your updated resume).basedvulpes wrote:As my first substantive contribution to this thread in a long time, do you guys think I need update the school's I've applied to, both those I've been accepted to and am still pending at, on my employment situation? I don't see it really changing outcomes, but I don't want my job to come up during an interview and then have to awkwardly tell them I got laid off.
Probably going to take a little hiatus from being so active here, but I'm fine and honestly think it's for the best - I haven't enjoyed my job for at least several months. More than anything I'm worried about making ends meet for the next nine months, but I know things will work out.

I think this is good advice. And while I'm sure it sucks a lot, I hope you can take some time to RELAX and play lots of WWF with us so we don't miss you too much.doublehoohopeful wrote:I'm sorry that happened to you, it really sucks. Also Li'l Sebastian!libertttarian wrote: We don't have some benevolent power keeping watch over us. And so long as gender is a descriptive tool with an "in group" and "out group," then, human nature being what it is, a struggle for gendered dominance will be forever ongoing. It may be silent and at times imperceptible, but in the long run will result in an entrenched gendered hierarchy. And this is exactly the type of society that Hilde and I both want to end.
