When would the next wave be for ppl who applied after/near Dec lsat?

Really hoping that there's still room left for acceptances. Also, did everyone who received a waiver get a hand written note as well?

I too am wondering about this. Just went complete last week (1/4). Submitted 12/2.

And yeah, I received a fee waiver with a short note too. I'm hoping it says something positive about our chances?

I submitted 11/20 and received the fee waiver/hand-written note 1-2 weeks later, and was accepted on Christmas Eve - not sure if the note is for everyone, but it certainly made me apply where I wasn't previously planning on it, so...

That's my general thought too, but as someone without any lawyers (or grad degrees period) in the family or in my network, I've sort of looked to these forums as a way to shape my expectations. It's easy to look at employment stats and see that Duke has higher general employment than Michigan, but if I love Michigan's program, is it still a reasonable decision to pick them over Duke, or does that make me less likely to be successful/am I using the wrong factors to make my decision, and so on and so forth.

Thanks for the feedback, those who answered. :)

As a fellow applicant, I'm not sure I know much more than you, but based on a lot of conversations I've had with people outside this forum, I will say this -

Certain programs at certain schools may help your employment chances within that field . Location is also very important; if you're trying to work in Chicago or the midwest generally, a midwest school will probably give you better opportunities than a slightly better school on the east coast (and vice versa). But at it's core, and especially among the T14, employment rates are all high enough that you're positioned very well at graduation. Ignoring a list of other factors that indicate a certain school is your best fit solely due to rankings could easily be the wrong choice, so I wouldn't stress too much about that.

They're a slow trickle (mostly on tuesday-friday) and seem very all over the place in terms of submission date and then decision date.

Just checked my status checker and got rejected  I'm so confused how does 3.76 170 get rejected at Michigan?? I'm super stressed, does that mean I have something really wrong with my app? Idk I already got into to duke Cornell and gulc. This sucks

That's bizarre - if it were YP you could at least expect waitlist, I would think. Any C&F issues or strange PS topic, or anything like that?

Sorry dude, that really sucks... Maybe trying to keep classes small = more selective? It's definitely hard to say. I sort of think law schools probably match you up against your major, and poly sci (as your bio says) is definitely the most competitive (i.e. largest) such field... Even so, I would have expected WL. :(

No C&F and my ps was about overcoming an illness as a child and how I later did a lot of community service for children who were in my same position, which led me to other positions I have taken and to wanting to go to law school. I'm guessing it was a fit thing or they have a certain quota of people with certain numbers they try to fill and they already had enough with my numbers or maybe I had some glaring typo or something idk. But yeah I definitely would have expected at least a wait list, I honestly thought I had Michigan in the bag.

You're an URM too so it's really strange. Most likely scenario is YP. You're having a good cycle still and will get good choices.

This makes no sense. How long ago did you apply? I do remember someone in last year's UMich thread who got a very strange reject message in the SC which turned out to be a mistake. For a 3.76/170 URM to not even get a w/l is very bizarre.

Applied late October, went complete early November. Thanks everyone for the support, but it is what it is. How did the guy last year get notified the rejection was a mistake?

The reason I asked about when you applied was because this person applied only like a week or so before getting the reject decision. She called the admissions office and learned it was a clerical error (I dropped out of the thread shortly thereafter so I don't know if she ultimately got in or not). In your case, it does look like the decision is legit, so I'm sorry. If they did this to you, I suspect I'll be joining you in the reject pile soon, since we are basically the same applicant (at least in the basic sense). In terms of there being some kind of fatal flaw with your app, your other acceptances demonstrate that there's nothing wrong with your application per se. You're going to have a great cycle. Chalk this up to this being Michigan's loss.

Did anyone else receive an email about being admitted to the summer start program?

There was no scholarship info in the email so does that mean that I am not getting any? (at this point)
