Accepting nominations for Law School with the Worst Waitlist Etiquette

I think it's time for this topic, (although I recognize that all will be forgiven even by the worst offending Law Schools, so long as y'all are taken off those WLs and admitted to the schools to which you really want to go. With big scholarship $$$.)
I'll get us started by nominating EMORY, the school that doesn't inform "regular" waitlisted applicants that there is a "priority" waitlist as well. It leaves it up to TLS to clue people in, largely. The way I learned about the PWL was when I tried to schedule a revisit and learned there was a time block reserved for "admitted students and priority waitlist student ONLY." Say what, now? I called the admissions office to confirm there were 2 lists (there are) and when I suggested that RWL folks might want to be specifically informed about the PWL, I was met with stony silence.
Not cool, Emory, not cool.

I nominate UNC, they sent out a letter earlier in the month stating essentially that they will be making final decisions on those who would like to sign up for "priority" consideration within a week.
Turns out that you don't get a decision at all and the waiting list isn't actively being used and those that sign up for "priority" consideration will just be the first ones to get reviewed if a spot opens.

Columbia, for sending monthly emails entitled "Columbia Law School Admissions Decision," with the body, "Please see the attached document for a decision on your application to Columbia Law School," and an attached document saying they are still deliberating.
DELIBERATION IS NOT A DECISION

That story about Columbia may be tough to beat! Does your heart stop every time you see an email with that subject line?

Dont know if this'll best the Columbia story but I'll try: Applied to ND, didn't hear back until the middle of finals (also after their first deposit deadline was over), had already enrolled elsewhere and forgot about it completely, got waitlisted, and then got rejected like a week or so later. Still not sure why they did things the way they did...

THIS SO MUCH! Especially the "warm regards" signature that has me positive it's an acceptance and then it's a "wait until __(*insert date here*)"

Last year, They held me, Reserved me twice (three?) times, told me that I would be accepted (as per a phone call during the month of July) if anyone dropped from the list. Finally, my final decision came via phone call, on their last day of orientation. They informed me that, despite their predictions, no one dropped out. Sorry about before, no New York for you!
Absolute worst. But they accepted me this year. Not going.
Columbia, really. I love you, but you gotta tighten up your system.

Columbia. Applied early, waited until their decision deadline, no response. Two weeks later, nothing so i sent them an email. Didnt get a decision until I called them two weeks later - one month after they said they would have all decisions out.
Finally got a response: held. Lol. I had enough at that point and just withdrew. Didnt want to be part of an institution as apathetic as that. Oh and I was 75/50+ as well.

These Columbia nightmares are reminding me of my Columbia undergrad nightmare: accepted, but messed up my housing application. I was, somehow, entered into their housing system under three different profiles, and my one completed housing app was spread out over these three profiles to make three incomplete housing apps. I still have no idea how that happened, but it took me three months of frustrating phone calls to figure out why all my friends had housing assignments and I didn't. I never ended up going. I was turned off by nearly everyone I talked to. These law school stories don't surprise me in the least.

Unfortunately I don't think it's just wait list activity with Columbia. The whole admissions experience is so messed up.

Per admissions officers at Northwestern during last week's Transfer Live Chat Q&A, they stated WL activity is notably lower than it was in previous years. They usually take 20% of the WL, this year it was less. Check out the NU WL thread.
Also Berkeley has not taken anyone off the WL at all so far (380 people on WL in total).
And Cornell hasn't used their summer WL at all either.
Georgetown had movement but I think that's just because their class size is so big and everyone who applies in the T14 throws an application in.

lol hands down gotta be berkeley. zero communication with waitlisted applicants since march when they released quartile rankings. it's august now for crying out loud. the least they could have done was let us know back in june or july that movement wouldn't be likely. applicants had to contact berk admissions themselves to find out that there wouldn't be any movement off the waitlist.

I withdrew from Chicago months ago, but still get e-mails asking if I'd like to continue to remain on the WL.

Is that not the case for most law schools? For 4 of the 5 schools that wait listed me, I had to contact them to hear
anything regarding movement.
Eh my waitlisted schools would periodically update me in mass mailings to all waitlisted applicants (UVA and Michigan come to mind).
