Thanks for the reminder. When are the earliest deposit deadlines, anyway?

It varies by school, of course. But it seems April 1st, 15th, and 30th are big dates along with May 1st.

If your cycle has ended and come to a close and you've decided on a school... CONGRATULATIONS! Let those schools whose hallowed halls you have no intention of gracing in the fall know, so those of us waiting have a chance. Thanks.

stupid question: how do you withdraw? does it vary by school, or do you just email the admissions office and withdraw for all of them? i'm just starting to withdraw from a bunch of places now.
That's not a dumb question at all. You just email them saying, "Hey, I'm glad you accepted/waitlisted me but I have decided that I would like for you all to withdraw my application...blah blah blah.."

I just called each of them. Some you can just do over the phone, but others want it via email. I called so I could make sure I was provided with the right email just in case.

This is the formate I used to withdraw. Thank you to the original poster.

To: Law Admissions
Subject: Decline of Admission

Dear Admissions Committee,

I am honored that you have given me the opportunity to join your
prestigious law community. However, I have decided to consider other
options more heavily and will not be enrolling in your 2018 incoming
class.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

With deposit deadlines coming, good luck to those of us depending on waitlists. May folks withdraw or miss their deadlines to our benefit! :) :P

Had a little bit last week (2 weeks ago?), then silence, seems like.

Nope, still waiting for my top choice, Houston, and a couple others.

Only admissions office that contacted me over the past few weeks with an update was George Mason, which I don't think I'd attend anyway.

We are getting into the heart of WL season and I appeal to all who are holding onto WL at schools they have no intention/desire to attend to PLEASE WITHDRAW! If you have made a deposit and have signed a lease for an apartment, but are hanging onto a WL somewhere... Let it GO! Free Yourself! PLEASE! For those unsure of how to withdraw I provide a template or you can use the one above or make your own...JUST. WITHDRAW!

Dear Admissions Committee,

Every year applicants such as myself apply to many excellent law schools such as yours. Unfortunately, I cannot attend every fine institution that I applied to, and I regret to inform you that you have not been selected for my Fall 2018 academic year. Thank you for considering me as an applicant, and best wishes for all of your future endeavors.

Sincerely,

ETA: This was taken from a thread with a list of WL withdraw email templates

Good Stuff. This might be one of the drawbacks of this application system.

Also, you might want to change the title to something like "If you don't intend to enroll please withdraw" to make it more clear. Just my two cents of thought. :)

It's a shame this has to be said. I always try to withdraw as soon as I know I'm not going there.
