Hi everyone! Happy new year!! If you are accepted ED, can you still apply to defer?

I'm not totally sure, but I know for UVA for example, the ED agreement says you agree to enrolling at UVA and in the 2015-2016 academic year. Can't hurt to ask the admin office though.

This is school specific but you might be better off withdrawing and reapplying if you'd be paying sticker.

I know at least some schools do allow this. Also I'm sure it's circumstance dependant. For instance,iIf you are withdrawing for medical reasons I'm sure most schools would understand.

I think you can defer and work for a year. I've seen a friend defer for 2 years, but that was a special circumstance.

I have an offer to do investment banking so it would be to work. Do you happen to know what schools are more lenient than others especially if the candidate got in ED?

There's just not enough data on deferrals to speculate. All you can do is request it and find out.

Why defer at all? You might stick with banking, and if not just reapply, you'd have better work experience and would prob get in again anyway
