UF vs. FSU vs. Emory UPDATED

I know the FSU/UF topic has been discussed ad nauseam, but I couldn't find any posts updated for FSU's jump in rankings over UF. I'm currently applying and I've narrowed it down to UF, FSU, and Emory, but I was hoping to get some Floridian opinions. Not a resident of FL, but I know I want to practice in the state and that I want to be a prosecutor. LSAT is 166 and GPA 3.8. Here are my thoughts right now:

FSU pros:
- Ranked higher
- More graduates get government jobs

UF pros:
- Criminal Justice Certificate and Prosecutorial Clinic

Emory pros:
- T20
- Atlanta

Rankings don't matter. Clinics don't matter. Here's a head-to-head comparrison of the schools' employment outcomes. If you're set on becoming a prosector, the key point is to minimize the debt as much as possible. It does look like FSU has more placements to government jobs, but I'd need someone more familiar with Florida and prosecutor jobs to comment on this.

Emory isn't going to be right fit for a Florida prosecutor track.

That's helpful, thanks!

LOL

Also, don't go to Emory if you want a job in Florida, especially because you're not a Floridian

Just go to whichever of FSU/UF you prefer or flip a coin. Don't go to either unless you get a full ride. I'd probably lean toward whichever one is closer to the city/county you ultimately want to live and work in.

Unfortunately, this thread will ultimately just be bait for an old fashioned UF v FSU showdown. This site can't help itself.

Its not just the site. People at those two schools can't ever help themselves. UF has better undergrad and state reputation, FSU has better football, coeds, and a cooler city. Their law schools are about equal. Let the case rest.

Everyone is making good points. Go with your gut, whatever is a better fit. Visit both schools. Look at employment numbers. If one gives you a scholarship higher than the other, choose that.

With your updated stats in the OP, the answer is... retake and shoot for T14 and a better job than local FL prosecutor. Even if you don't retake, you can probably do better than any of the Florida schools and have a better career track.
