I'm from the area and I'm c/o 2017, so if you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them.

Do you remember how long the time period was between completed application and decision? And how have your first couple of weeks been?

checking in here. It'll more than likely be a very affordable option, and it has the cheapest COL of any law school in the nation. The thing that scares me is that I, under no condition, wanna work in oklahoma (although it may not be the worst option until any debt is paid)

If you don't want Oklahoma, OU is not the right place for you. If you don't want to work in a Small law firm (less than 20 people) OU is not for you.
But you are right, very affordable! If only every law school would keep their prices down!

I applied later in the cycle (March) and had a very quick 2 week turnaround between completed application and decision.
The first couple of weeks have been enjoyable. It's a friendly atmosphere all around.

Doesn't OU place in Texas as well?

Somewhat but if Texas is what you want you are better off at one of the Texas schools.

Checking in. Applied 10/17, Complete 10/20. They called me letting me know my application would be decided with the first round they are reviewing on 11/3 and invited me up for a visit. I love the school and the atmosphere, only problem is I'm Texas born and raised so the whole Oklahoma thing still needs some time to get used to. Any idea on out of state schollarship amounts for a 3.32/159?

By stalking what I assume is your LSN profile, it looks as if 19k a year at OU will be significantly cheaper than Baylor, SMU, etc. And congrats on the acceptance btw.

Did my interview last week. I was truly, truly blown away by the law school and how generous the people were. I feel like they will be a very affordable option for me as well when the next LSAT comes out. To go with the cost of living...damn man it's tough to turn down.
Also, the 1LS program is, in my opinion, the most important thing I've seen from any of my law school visits so far. If you don't know what it is, you can go to OU for a month in the fall and get contracts law outta the way. First off, you get to focus all of your time and effort into one class to get as high of a grade as possible. 2) You have a lighter load in the fall of 1L to focus on those 3 classes.
3) you get to know the faculty before anyone else does. 4) You get a glimpse of the coursework in law school by just easing your way into it, as opposed to it just getting thrusted upon you.
Am I missing anything here? When they told me about it, I was like, there's gotta be a catch. The only one I see is that you will have to pay for a few extra months of rent earlier than expected, but that seems like a very smart way to go about this.
Loved OU though. It'll be tough to choose between my other options, but if its affordable, I think I fell in love with the campus, the city, and the law building last week. The 1LS program is icing.

Just got the call! Told the acceptance package will be here in the next week with scholly info. No email yet, though.
I was told they were calling a bunch of people in the next few days because they started viewing November/early December applications yesterday and this morning, so I'm sure a lot of you ITT should expect some calls as well.
edit: Idk what my scholarship is yet, but does anyone know if OU negotiates?

ilikebaseball, pretty sure we applied to most of the same schools haha
do you have to do an interview or is it just encouraged? I just got an email today they will review it at the next meeting and since I am already back at UT it would be hard to visit within the next 4/6 weeks

Checking in! OU is at the top of my list right now, and I don't see that changing unless another school suddenly offers more $$$.
I graduated with my undergrad degree in December so I am seriously thinking about starting in May with the 1LS Program. Anyone have any good housing/apartment suggestions??
