Hi folks

Who else has applied here?
I went complete on the 15th, and my status changed to "decision letter mailed" on the 22nd! Nothing yet, but I'm excited to find out and THRILLED that they're getting back to me so incredibly quickly, before I've even begun applying to other schools. Hoping for an early acceptance!

already? lol that sorta stresses me out. I probably wont be applying to BU though. Ive heard nothing but horror stories on TLS. Comes across as one of the worst "quality of life" law schools there is. I wish everyone luck though that decides to apply!

Baylor had a really fast turn around for me on both the application and on scholarship negotiations.

Thanks for your thoughts, choward and attax!
Got the letter in the mail today! VERY VERY excited to be accepted AND given a full-tuition scholarship! What a fantastic way to start the application cycle! However, they want a $500 non-refundable deposit by August 4 (and yes, I double checked, they do know I am applying for Fall 2015). This is crazy! I can't just go throwing around $500 when I won't have any clue about my other options for probably 6 months at LEAST. I don't want to give up my spot or my scholarship, but I also can't really afford to be giving them $500 at this point in time...
Anyone have any advice for me?

That is incredibly early. Grats on the scholly. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the school, a full ride with a low COL is always a good option. However, they want your deposit way before the time that most people are even applying. Perhaps sending them an email stating that you applied to baylor first because you are very interested in the school, but you would still like to see what other are options available this cycle could help

That's very obnoxious.
If it were me, I'd be tempted to write them to confirm that they've admitted me for Fall 2015 (I know you've already double checked) just to work in "in light of the position of the LSAC that . . . ."
Here's what LSAC says, not that it's in any way binding:
Seat Deposits
Many law schools use seat deposits to help keep track of their new classes. For example, a typical fee might be $200, which is credited to your first-term tuition if you actually register at the school; if you don’t register, the deposit may be forfeited or partially returned. A school may require a larger deposit around July 1, which is also credited to tuition. If you decline the offer of admission after you’ve paid your deposit, a portion of the money may be refunded, depending on the date you actually decline the offer. At some schools, you may not be refunded any of the deposit.
The official position of the Law School Admission Council is:
Except under binding early decision plans, or for academic terms beginning in the spring or summer, no law school should require an enrollment commitment of any kind, to an offer of admission or scholarship prior to April 1. Admitted applicants who have submitted a timely financial aid application should not be required to commit to enroll by having to make a nonrefundable financial commitment until notified of financial aid awards that are within the control of the law school.

Thank you to all those who responded, especially BVest! I was unaware of that policy. I emailed Baylor and they called me back the next business day to tell me that it was a mistake, and that my deposit deadline was actually April 1. Hah! Very happy with this.

My status just changed to "decision letter mailed" as well. Fingers crossed for a good offer.

I just heard from Baylor. Accepted for Spring '15 Quarter but no mention of any scholarships (I assume that means I won't receive any?).
I agree with all the above comments regarding the $500.00 seat deposit.

Cool, how long did it take? Did you find out my email/mail/status checker?
Those of you who got good offers, how likely are you to go?

Turnaround was 2 or 3 weeks if I remember right. Status checker said decision letter mailed and about a week later a packet came with acceptance and $$$ info.
Low COL and a good scholarship offer definitely makes them worth consideration, but an informed decision is impossible without hearing back from other schools first.

Check that $$$ though, they like to make it seem like a full ride but it may not actually cover all of your quarters.

Applied 10/17 and went complete on 10/20. Any idea if that quick turnaround applies as we get deeper into the cycle?

May be a little slower due to more apps coming in but I would expect it to be fairly similar. Pure conjecture though, take that for what it's worth.

Decision mailed 11/6, can't log onto Accepted Students, anyone else?
Hoping this doesn't mean bad news
