Just wanted to make a separate thread for those of us on reserve. I just looked through the c/o 2016 thread and there was movement pretty much every week in June around Thursday/Friday. If anyone has any insights/baseless speculation on the process please share!

Nope, just an e-mail with really quick turnaround (1-2 business days).

Being registered for the June LSAT and being on reserve is awful..I get my hopes up every hour when I get an email from "Office of Admissions"

How many spots will realistically even be available at Cornell? I have to imagine they already filled up their class since its so small... Even if some of their admitted students decide to go to another highly ranked school, that doesn't leave much room for us on the reserve.

I wonder if there's any info about what percentage of people get admitted from reserve (not just tls info with a self-reporting bias).

Also, apparently Cornell still uses the status checker when you're on reserve. But there have been conflicting reports about it changing before an admit - some people said it did change and some claim it didn't change before they were accepted.

I just want to be set straight on the details so that I can form some reasonable expectations.

I think there is some info about what percentage of people get in from reserve list, but trust me it's not very positive info/skewed by stats/softs/LOCIs.

After going through last years thread, about 12 people were admitted from reserve last year, but of course it varies with the cycle.

And basing it off of last years thread, I don't think status updates tell you anything indicative. I think the only thing that is certain is that the reserve movement will begin sometime this month and then end sometime next month.

The only other certain fact is that the reserve pool is large - "several hundred" from what I recall from the initial email.

Although it's highly likely that it's slimmed down a bit since we got that e-mail (in like March?).

Seems like they are very cryptic about the process. Anyone have any insight into what they're looking for?

They could be looking for anything from URMs to LSAT scores to a specific gender to OOSers, etc. Depends on how their class has shaped up and what they're lacking, or think they're lacking.

Is a premature to say no movement today? Nothing so far here or on LSN.

Yeah probably waiting until next week, I really want to call and ask when we can expect movement on reserve applicants but I don't want to annoy the adcomm...

This is baseless speculation but... I've heard from a few people wait-listed at other T14s (Penn, UVA) that admissions offices have indicated that this WL movement will be delayed because of unexpected movement from HYS. So maybe that's affected us as well?

Current status date just changed to today, no other changes though. This happen to anyone else?

STATUS DATE CHANGE CONFIRMED. I also recently called admissions, they said decisions on reserve soonish, but it was kind of vague in terms of when...

Checking in & my status date changed today as well.

Also confirming status checker update. I wonder if everyone got an update?

Status date change for me as well... Hopefully this is a good sign!
