Which university do you guys think is a better school? St Thomas seem to have a better ranking but Nova has a higher bar passing. I am looking for a university that has strong connections in the community as well as a solid law program.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Flame? If not, neither of these schools are worth going to under any circumstance. Check out their LST #s. For the FL market, FSU, UF, or Miami with $$$ or T14 with ties are credited ways to go.

I have a friend that's attending St. Thomas University and she says that she loves it. (she does however have a guaranteed job after graduation through a family member who happens to be a judge in Mia-Dade County)
However, in my personal opinion I would have to agree with the individuals that have posted before me.
The only reason I would ever give for attending either is if you are 150% sure that you have a guaranteed job after graduation in a family business, with a close friend or whatever, and you don't plan on ever going elsewhere (and they give you pretty much a full scholarship). Even then it is still highly questionable and honestly I would still steer clear.
As I am sure you saw when you checked out the rankings neither is credited very highly to begin with and to be honest many individuals in South Florida have never heard of either so that obviously does not add any merit.
That being said, I do know of an individual who graduated from NOVA Law and has been highly successful since he opened his private firm years ago (he attended on a full ride so he had no debt after graduation which allowed him to open his firm). Granted, he made the majority of his connections (customers) prior to beginning law school, while working a few years after undergrad, and was able to maintain them throughout his time in law school. Nonetheless, it seems like he was and is one of those rare exceptions.
On another note, I've often wondered the same thing about both schools and welcome graduates and currents students to reply with their opinions and experiences. Who knows, both schools might be a hidden gem within the South Florida region.
I apologize for any grammatical/spelling mistakes, dinners on the table! Peace!
