Hey guys! Just thought we should have a separate thread for us so that we can better facilitate info and be anxious together!

I am Doge and I was waitlisted to Emory.

Priority/Preferred waitlist or just regular waitlist?

I was regularly waitlisted. The difference being that the priority waitlist is evaluated by the Dean of admissions in addition to the regular staff (I asked them when I visited what the difference was).

Considering how many waitlists there are on LSN this thread is so needed. Regular WL here.

So you say you visited above, did you get any more info on the WL? No status checker is not helpful in at least seeing when they glance at our file ahh.

Priority waitlist here. Did the regular waitlists have any mention of a scholarship in their waitlist email? I know priority waitlisters did. I'm just trying to see the difference between the two.

There was mention of scholarship that would be available even for students being accepted off the regular waitlist.

But seriously, there wasn't much more additional info I could find out. They do not rank their waitlist, and the inclusion into the priority doesn't necessarily mean that you will be picked over a regular waitlist student. They also didn't mention any specifics about the size of their waitlist. Honestly, your guess is as good as mine. Also I remember reading that you sent an LOCI to them, did you by any chance ever receive that confirmation?

Ya I guessed they weren't going to divulge too much. And no! I'm going to assume it's on my file. I should probably call and double check though...

Regular Waitlisted, unexpected so I am very excited. Email mentioned schollys would be available to us. Sent in LOCI and also received no conformation.

So the priority waitlist is not, in fact a priority? We have similar chances? I figured it was a long shot since I was on regular, but this gives me hope!

Also, how much do you guys think visiting will make a difference? I have not been down there yet, but I would not be able to go until the end of April (after group tours are done), so I am wondering if it is worth trying to make a trip to Atlanta happen? If it would help at all I will definitely make it work.

Regular waitlisted, sent in my LOCI early this week, no confirmation.

I'm hoping we'll get to see when the ball starts rolling in here.

I think you definitely should. It shows interest and they definitely will make a note of it. I would also say you would be able to write about it in the LOCI but if you already sent it I still think it would be worth it!

Also, when's the official deposit deadline for Emory?

The first is April 15, the second is June 2.

Did those on the waitlist have to pay the deposit?

Well one of you may be offered my spot because I'm declining my offer from Emory on Monday.

No deposits are for seats offered, Waitlisted applicants don't have seats to reserve.

I'm not sure how much stock to put in that reassurance. I can't imagine why they would have something called a priority waitlist if those on it didn't receive priority consideration for acceptance. What would be the point in separating the lists? I do think there will probably be a certain number of applicants admitted from regular, but I'm not banking on hearing until late in the summer if I do come off. Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, just trying to be realistic...

It states that they prefer to have it emailed directly to them through their JD admissions email.

Well, there has to be at least SOME movement, since I noticed a few people were passing up Emory to go to other schools on the other threads,,,

Hoping for some movement tomorrow!
