Two things:

1st - You can get money from much better schools with those numbers you've already got. Avoid the schools you mention in the OP.

2nd - You can get into even better schools with an LSAT score a few points higher. Re-take and get six more questions right.

I acknowledge your points, but I suppose I am incorrigible. At this point, knowing exactly the future trials and tribulations into which I am getting myself, I'll probably settle with Drexel unless Penn State or Villanova give me equal or better offers. Anyway, Drexel has an MS in Library/Information Science joint degree option, to which I may apply if my first semester transpires exceptionally well, irrespective of the fact that joint degrees are understood to be worthless, or nearly so.

these are bad options and I for the life of me cannot imagine why you would want a JD/MS library degree.

IIRC, UNC has a pretty decent library science program (it may even be #1 in the country) and OP could get in with his current numbers. Being a law librarian isn't sexy but I won't question the OP's intentions.

I'd like to remain in the Philly area. But, of course, UNC is #31 in the USNWR rankings...

Idk if this is a troll post or not but why are you not open to going to a better school with your numbers, or retaking and going to a school where you'd have a decent shot at a job after? Serious question, idgi.

For what it is worth, I know someone who has a Masters in Lib Science from the best program in the country and would only get hired part time.

Do not do this.

I have been effectively dissuaded on this account.

But, alas, I remain an imbecile.

+1. These schools are not worth 3 years of your life even if free.

Yeah aim for a job that's rapidly being taken over by the internet

good idea
UNC JD + MS Library Bullshit >> Drexel pure bullshit.

Because he should be aiming for a job, period.

Why not go to temple...

All of these schools are private or charge private school prices (cuse).

You could get a scholly at a state school probably...or ED Penn...or something

Yes, except perhaps under very rare circumstances. I actually think the JD/MLS combo is one of the only joint degrees worth doing (with the usual caveats about cost/debt), as long as you're committed to pursuing librarian jobs rather than lawyer jobs - probably better to think of it as the JD adding value to a librarian degree rather than the other way around. There aren't a ton of law librarian jobs, but there aren't a ton of JD/MLS's out there, either. And despite the internet, librarians aren't going anywhere. Drexel also has an excellent MLS program. My sense is that if you want to be a law librarian, pedigree of JD isn't that important.

I'm not saying this makes Drexel worth the price, especially since the OP doesn't sound especially focused on law librarianship. But of the schools listed, it's the least terrible option.

Unless I am admitted to Penn State (USNWR #51) sometime in the near future.

Well, at any rate, I can't help being a dunce.

Penn State is another school I wouldn't go to even for free bc of bad job prospects

It's not wise to matriculate to any law school below Cornell (#13)...

Penn State, Temple, Villanova, AND Drexel are pretty much all in the same class as far as employment outcomes (check LST). You have a very specific goal, but not sure that it will service any kind of law school debt. Try to negotiate a school to a Full ride and get rid of the minimum GPA stipulation and then the only thing you have to lose is 3 years; better than 3 years and money.
