What does that even mean?? ...did they even read my personal statement? Should I take this as a good sign for other schools? (The school I was accepted to is a T1).

NYU (for example) has accepted people within days of going complete. They certainly read your essay, it just might be that between your numbers and the rest of your application, they didn't have to deliberate much.

This is just my observation, but I think people who apply later in the cycle with strong apps get quicker responses because by then adcomms know what their cycle is looking like so they know exactly what type of applicants they are looking for.
