Since reverse-splitters have their own post, lets make a splitter post. For people sub 25th percentile gpa and greater than 90th percentile LSAT(164) applying in 2013-2014.

Posting acceptances to give other splitters hope.
I'll start.
I'm 2.8+/165+
2013-Acceptances so far this cycle.
-WUSTL
-Alabama
-GWU
-U, Minnesota
-Georgia
Applying broadly I think is key. Although I would trade my LSAT for any of the reverse splitters gpa's any day.

Also for fun, fill in the blank.
I'm a splitter because...

I'm >75th LSAT and between 25th/median GPA at almost every school to which I'm applying. I agree that applying broadly is key... Toss apps out there and see which schools need the LSAT score the most.

I started late so I haven't heard back from anywhere yet but interested to see which schools are splitter-friendly this cycle.

174/ 3.58.

Applied early December, so I still have about a month and a half before I should get worried.
So far, accepted to Syracuse.

In the process of submitting apps, hoping schools will need the LSAT boost...

Are any of you submitting addendums for GPA?/ Does it really help?

Also, what kind of luck do splitters typically have soliciting fee waivers?

Definitely going to try..

I solicited multiple t20 waivers and got many more via crs.

I had free or fee waivers to multiple t20 schools but these were also the splitter friendly t20s.

I'm a 2.5 and 16X and a somewhat non-traditional (3+ years out of school and legal WE). I had some serious health issues that contributed to my low GPA.

I only applied at T1 schools that sent waivers and my regionals. I can't actually move for school as I own a house here and my spouse has a good job which will be helpping to put me through law school, so I'm really only interested in the two regional schools (one T1 and one mid T2).

I am in at the lower ranked school and no word yet from the other. Rejected at WUSTL.

I found it to be really easy, though a lot of them come without solicitation. There were only 2 schools in the T-20 (besides HYS, of course) that I did not have fee waivers for.

174/3.2 here. Applied early December to the T14 sans HYS, Chicago and Boalt, plus some east coast regionals. Predictably, I haven't heard anything aside from a GULC interview request. Good luck all.

Sub-3.0 / 170+

Acceptances:
-UCLA
-NU
-G'town
-Lewis & Clark

WL:
-UVA
-UW (Sea)

No rejections (yet).

Very non-traditional, PM for details.

I'm a splitter because I was an uninspired youth. I went to college because I was "supposed" to, but I probably would've been someone who benefitted from a tour in the military prior to undergrad. I was a fairly intelligent fellow I suppose, just didn't have any designs on what I wanted to do or why I was in college. I had pretty poor discipline, and I missed classes far too often to succeed. I was 17-21 years old, and I acted like it unfortunately (this has been rectified).

This thread is actually quite reassuring. I'm 2.8/179 (7 years of WE) and am slightly freaking out about getting rejected from every T14. Feeling slightly better after seeing people's acceptances, tho I'm sure the people that do get rejected don't bother to post.

Hi all,

Like SoCo Law, I am also a "very non-traditional" student (like, 8 different transcripts non-traditional). My numbers are 3.47/173, although since 2007, my GPA has been at a 3.96 or higher (the bad grades are from the years 1997-2005). I was just a stupid kid who had no idea what she wanted out of life - I kept starting programs and then dropping out of them. Trust me, my family is not taking this "law school thing" very seriously.

Because of my complicated educational past, I pretty much applied to every school because I was convinced only one or two schools would accept me. I have been happy with my results so far:

Acceptances:

-Lewis and Clark ($$$) - I really want to do animal law, which is why I applied here.
-UCLA
-Georgetown
-Vanderbilt

Waitlisted:

-Duke (priority reserve, whatever that means)

Still Waiting:

-Harvard
-Cornell
-UVA
-Penn
-Berkeley
-Michigan
-UT Austin
-ASU (I live in Phoenix)
-NYU
-Columbia
-Northwestern
-Notre Dame
-University of Chicago
**I wasn't kidding when I said I applied everywhere! I only did so because I got a bunch of fee waivers. The waiting, though, is seriously killing me.
