University of Kentucky c/o 2017 (2013/2014 cycle)
I haven't seen a thread for UK so I thought I would start one. It's my top choice and my application should be complete soon as I was a December 2013 retake applicant. I'm not from Kentucky, but it's pretty much the only place I want to live so it's an easy choice. Any movement for applicants so far?

Cool, I'm just worried about admission with my lame GPA but hopefully I can try to swing a bit of money.Winston1984 wrote:The letter said we will be notified in late January.

Also was accepted in December and can confirm scholarship info is TBD.
Unlikely I'll attend but a big scholarship offer might force me to consider.

For those accepted, when did you apply? I haven't seen an update from Kentucky since late November.

Accepted today via e-mail, scholarship info to come at a later date. Decent scholarship and I will be in Lexington next fall. I am from the Lexington area (went out of state for UG) so if any applicants who are unfamiliar with the area have questions feel free too ask away.

I've never been, so what is the feel? I imagine it's pretty much like a college town, but any insight would be awesome.chargers wrote:Accepted today via e-mail, scholarship info to come at a later date. Lexington is definitely centered around UK, but it is a pretty big city so I wouldn't describe it as a college town in the sense that places like Auburn or Athens are college towns. I mean that in a positive sense, in that it has all the positives of a college town (good bar scene and nightlife, UK sporting events, etc.), but there's more to it than just the university. The downtown/campus area was redone a few years ago and is really nice. They have also built a number of new apartment complexes right near campus so finding housing isn't much of a problem.Winston1984 wrote:I've never been, so what is the feel? The Law building itself is in a good location right in the middle of the main campus, however it is pretty old and not as nice as some other ones I've seen. I have heard for the last couple years that plans have been in the work to completely renovate it but who knows.

So I finally have movement, my status is now "File Pending for Decision" with the status date 1/23/2014; any idea what this means?

Last week my status changed to "File Pending for Decision" with the date 1/16/2014, and then on the 16th it changed to "Decision Rendered" and I got an acceptance e-mail a couple hours later. So I would expect to hear something on the 23rd.rosebowlchamps100 wrote:So I finally have movement, my status is now "File Pending for Decision" with the status date 1/23/2014; any idea what this means?

Awesome thanks. Pretty cool that they tell you the date to expect a decision.chargers wrote:Last week my status changed to "File Pending for Decision" with the date 1/16/2014, and then on the 16th it changed to "Decision Rendered" and I got an acceptance e-mail a couple hours later. Anyone have any information about when they begin sending out invitations for Comb's Scholarship interviews?
Edit: For those curious, I spoke with the admissions dept. today (1/27) over e-mail and was told the Scholarships Committee met for the first time today. All those admitted should expect to hear something within the next couple weeks.

I got emailed scholarship information last Thursday (2/13).
$28,000 over 3 years.
Anyone have any idea how open UK is to negotiation?

FWIW, only two people on LSN have reported receiving a scholarship offer from UK so far. Maybe they are just slow to update their page, but I wouldn't give up hope yet.Mitchellcar wrote:Huh. Maybe I just didn't get any money then.ldlamb wrote:Some have already gone out.
