I had a really quick turnaround. I went complete 12/2 and had a decision 12/9. I was admitted via phone call. Are there any other applicants on TLS?
Good luck!

UGPA 3.79, LSAT 156. I originally planned to retake, but I didn't. I applied to only UNM because I live here now, and my husband has a good job here, so leaving isn't really an option. Also, they have the program I want (Native American Law).
Why?

I'm thinking of applying. I'm from Arizona and intend to stay in the southwest. I hear New Mexico is a sleeping state and will some day be the next Arizona. Regardless, what do you know about the legal market in New Mexico?

It is incredibly insular. They want you to have ties to the community. It's tough to get a law job here if you didn't go to a T14 or UNM. My friend moved here with a JD from American and a few years of decent work experience, and it took some time for her to find a job. She's been a prosecutor with the DA's office for a few years now. Albuquerque really is growing right now. I've only been here for a little over a year, but it seems like we are always getting new transplants popping into the office of the non-profit I work for.
I hope this helps. I know there are other threads out there about it.
