Hey, I received a scholarship e-mail today. Good luck with scholarships; from looking at your stats you should get one!Lwoods1020 wrote:Anyone get anything with scholarship info? And does anyone know if it is through mail or email?

2.0 for me as well! I'm very happy, because all of my other scholarship offers came with higher stipulations.10romeom wrote:Checking in! $35,000/ year! what were the stipulations for everyone? I was VERY happy to see I only need to keep a 2.0 or above! Congrats to everyone too!
Yes agreed, that seems like a very attainable stipulation. I feel like Nova is dishing out the $ to try and climb back up the rankings.ConLawNerd91 wrote:2.0 for me as well! I dont think this is the case. Their median is a 160, and they're giving out full rides to 157s, 3.5. Not to be negative (I applied too), but with a reduction in applicants, seems as though they are holding on for dear life and giving out full scholly's so that they win over the students debating between say Rutgers C, drexel, widener, etc.10romeom wrote:Yes agreed, that seems like a very attainable stipulation. It's unwise to chose drexel or widener over villanova though. I think they're more worried about templegoldenboy514 wrote:I dont think this is the case. Why? Drexel has a top-ranked facility to study in, next to the heart of Center City. It's employment numbers are low, but Nova's are only decreasing. Temple is losing students because they can't keep up with scholarships, and Drexel has been generous with financial aid for the past few years. I have a full-offer from Drexel and am turning it down in favor of Penn State or Rutgers, and will be putting in an application at Nova today, but I wouldn't be so dismissive of Drexel. It's unwise to chose drexel or widener over villanova though. I think they're more worried about temple
Drexel is TTT or TTTT and has to compete with the schools in the area which are all better than them and theyre so new they dont have an alumni network. don't go there, I know some people who have and they advised me against it besides the facts I just statedmach9zero wrote:Why? Curious, how do you see the ranking of the Philly schools (plus rutgers) in terms of placement?mach9zero wrote:Why? Drexel has a top-ranked facility to study in, next to the heart of Center City. I think they're all above drexel. Regardless if Nova's number is decreasing, it is still better than Drexel and salary and how many big law jobs students get it better. But hey, if someone wants to make the bad decision to choose Drexel over any other school in that area, it's no sweat off my back.goldenboy514 wrote:Curious, how do you see the ranking of the Philly schools (plus rutgers) in terms of placement?mach9zero wrote:Why? Personally - UPenn > Temple > Rutgers > Nova > PennSt* > Drexel > Widenergoldenboy514 wrote:Curious, how do you see the ranking of the Philly schools (plus rutgers) in terms of placement?mach9zero wrote:Why? I just proposed this question to a practicing attorney in Philly (Rutgers-C alum). He said "There's really no difference between the Philly schools after Penn. Drexel might be seen as the lowest since its only a few years old (not a lot of alumni)."goldenboy514 wrote:Curious, how do you see the ranking of the Philly schools (plus rutgers) in terms of placement?mach9zero wrote:Why? Alright you got me, it's snowing out, I'm bored - and I don't think Rutgers or Ohio State are getting decisions back to me today. So I'm writing a neighborhood guide for the beautiful city of Philadelphia. This probably would be better in a housing thread, and feel free to cross-post it into other area schools, and as always TLS, comments and criticisms and additions are ALWAYS appreciated. Let me say this again - use this guide as a start, but just because a house is in Kensington doesn't make it a crack-den. These are based off of my own judgements, and the reality MAY BE different.LShopeful628 wrote: I appreciate your help. My main concern, should I choose to go to Temple, will definitely be finding a place to live that's in a safe area but not incredibly expensive.
