checking in. applied EA November 11/4.

3.19 and 159. not great but reasonable numbers from what i can tell. strong application in all other areas.

want to stay in boston. assuming i won't get accepted to bc or bu but hoping for offers from both NUSL and Suffolk (part-time). figure it will come down to available merit aid and my situation at my current job.

Northeastern reached out and invited me to apply and I submitted my app on 11/21 but still no response? Do schools ever invite applicants and then reject them? Interesting.

If by reached out you mean they sent an email encouraging you to apply, then yes, it's extremely common. Unless the email was highly personalized I wouldn't read much into it.

Well they specifically referenced my LSAT score so I flattered myself and applied, haha, I guess rejection is en route then.

Still not uncommon. If you have the credential assembly service set so schools can see your information they'll email you if you fall within a certain threshold (I believe). Doesn't make a difference either way really.

Thanks for the info! Have you been admitted yet? Or received some decision?

I actually didn't apply to Northeastern. I was just perusing admissions threads to see how people were doing and saw your question hadn't been answered.

No decision yet but from limited info I have seen those that say they are accepted are sitting at or above median so far. Ditto on the above though.

Not this school but another school did send me a personalized email with a scholarship offer and a fee waiver to apply. I did apply and got in 3 days after. Mind you it is a school I would not go to but sometimes when they do reach out it is a personalized invite.

Northeastern did the exact same thing for me- fee waiver, mention of scholarship- the whole nine! So I felt super special and applied. But perhaps NE sent out an email blast or something? Because I'm still not admitted!

Now I have no business making a call such as this so I'm going emphasize: this is just a theory, but it seems like they are going through and giving acceptances to all with 3.5+ AND 160+ and holding off on deciding for everyone else. Just a pattern I noticed so far with NE and a few other schools. Again, I am very likely wrong here lol I'm just saying...

I would be one data point in favor of your theory- 3.6x, 169.

On Law School Numbers' website (posts live feed of profiles of students admitted/rejected etc) my theory seems to be completely supported there as well. For anyone still waiting on a decison, I encourage you to check it out. I am convinced they just sent out their first round of 'yes's to what they deem as the 'strongest' candidates. I think it was an automatic acceptance type-thing. They will probably take more time to really ponder over those who had slightly less than a 160 or slightly below a 3.5. Chances are still good for admittance though!
