Submitted my application last night so thought I'd kick things off for SMU. Any other applicants out there?

The earliest of the deadlines is November 1st, right? Did you just have everything in your app ready to go and are done with editing/rewriting?AT9 wrote:Submitted my application last night so thought I'd kick things off for SMU. Any other applicants out there?
Not sure, but could be. My e-mail from SMU said today that people who submit by the ED deadline would hear back with a decision in late January...kinda late for early decision.ScottRiqui wrote:The earliest of the deadlines is November 1st, right? SMU still hasn't updated their medians for your class. I know some of the schools told their students the medians at their orientation. Did they happen to tell y'all what the medians are?slayerhn wrote:1L at SMU. If you have any questions, just ask. If I can answer with my limited time here, I will.
Mine is three paragraphs, about 3/4 of a page in total, double-spaced with 1" margins.tbesancon wrote:Anyone else want to weigh in on what length they are using for the "Why SMU?" essay? In the directions, it says to write a "brief paragraph," but at the end of the directions it says "no longer than 1 page." What the eff SMU?
Thank you! Mine is about that length tooScottRiqui wrote:Mine is three paragraphs, about 3/4 of a page in total, double-spaced with 1" margins.tbesancon wrote:Anyone else want to weigh in on what length they are using for the "Why SMU?" essay? They sent me the same reply, then the next day I received a waiver email. I never responded to their inquiry about why I was asking for a waiver.Winston1984 wrote:Quick question, I tried to solicit a merit-based fee waiver and they replied asking for a reason for the fee waiver. Anyone experience this? Anyone have any ideas how I should respond? I already gave them my stats so I don't know what else to say.
Okay, I guess I'll just wait it out haha. Very strange email.cannibal ox wrote:They sent me the same reply, then the next day I received a waiver email. I sent them an email asking for a fee waiver (not merit-based), and they sent me one. Not sure why they're giving you such a hard time.Winston1984 wrote:Quick question, I tried to solicit a merit-based fee waiver and they replied asking for a reason for the fee waiver. My stats are 164/3.6X if that helps. I feel like they are competitive enough for a waiver. I'll wait a few days like Ox did, and if they don't just send one I'll just reiterate my stats I guess.jts723 wrote:I sent them an email asking for a fee waiver (not merit-based), and they sent me one. I'm sitting at 162/3.4, so if I got a fee waiver, I feel like you definitely should have!Winston1984 wrote:My stats are 164/3.6X if that helps. I feel like they are competitive enough for a waiver.
