I really think my status has said "Decision Letter Available within 24 hrs" since I got put on hold last month. Also, I feel like if they are going to change the status, then they'll change the date too.gobears!! wrote:I am 90% positive it said decision made since being on hold since febManoftheHour wrote:Are you sure? Lol it has said that since the last update. You'll know things have changed when you receive an email from them. Does anyone know approximately how many people are put on hold each year? Like is it a few dozen or a few hundred? Do we have any realistic chance?
Also it obviously varies year by year, but from the info I've dug up through neurotic searching I think only about 10% of people who are waitlisted get offered admission.
Good luck to all holdees!

Waitlist is when there are no more acceptance offers.

From the looks of last year's cycle, seems like waitlists went out early to mid-April.
And some folks got accepted off the waitlist late May.
Man, this cycle is so long. Not sure on whether to be happy about it or not.
Oh well, more chances of being accepted or at least waitlisted.
I REALLY want NW :/

Me too. I really want to move to Chicago. How many people do you think are in the held pool. There was like 3-4 rounds of decision and each one I'm assuming had like 50 decisions. Some were dinged, many were held, but I feel that out of the 50, 30 remain (after dings, and withdrawn) and still want NU. That's about 120, which would make up final acceptances and waitlists. Any other speculators out there?Luchi91 wrote:From the looks of last year's cycle, seems like waitlists went out early to mid-April.

These cycles are so long that I feel that all the deadlines and seat deposits are there just to build up my anxiety. My 2 choices for law school are ucla(waitlisted) and nu(basically waitlisted) and every time johann tweets about the bunnies in the courtyard I want break my phone in half

Johann tweeted that next week is the week!
He said that admit, waitlist, and withdraw are all on the table. Is withdraw the same as rejection? Or are we going to be forced to withdraw? Or does that mean they take into account folks who withdrew?

On the bright side he said admit. Sounds like not all the slots were filled by the deadline

I hope that's the case, but by his wording I'm not so sure...Slimz89 wrote:To me it sounds like the people who withdrew
"Adcom will meet early next week to resolve the hold status. Admit/WL/ and withdraw are all on the table."
It seems that the adcom will actively withdraw anyone who they're not interested in taking: i.e. withdraw them from contention.
Albeit this is completely speculation on my part, and I hope I'm wrong.
Also has anyone emailed them with their scholarship offers from other schools? Like saying "other places want to pay me but I still want NU?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
