Re: UCLA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
Submitted in January. Just called UCLA admissions office to ask if there was a timeline for decisions for those still waiting and having seat deposits coming up and she said the end of the month. I can understand if UCLA was like a HYS but they're UCLA, no one is going to take UCLA over a T14 unless they either a) offer way more money than the other T14 school or b) really want to work in LA and the other T14 school doesn't place many grads in CA.
I'm going to stick it out because I don't want to waste the $25 I spent on the LSAC fee but I can't envision a situation at this point where I would attend UCLA barring a big scholarship differential.

Thanks, this is helpful (and frustrating).dcruss wrote:Submitted in January. I submitted in December and have heard nothing. This is just CRUEL at this point. Are you guys that are still waiting Epstein apps? From reading previous years posts, it sounds like we have to wait a lot longer for a decision.

I applied in December to Epstein. I heard back about two weeks ago. I met several of the Epstein people last week at ASD. They said they received 500+ applicants for Epstein and chose 25.

So they already sent out Epstein? I really thought that was why this was taking so long. Torture!

I am a late application and still waiting on a decision but not Epstein.Bronxguy87 wrote:So they already sent out Epstein? I really thought that was why this was taking so long. Torture!
Crossing my fingers that a bunch of people get tired of waiting this week and either withdraw or sent seat deposits elsewhere. I heard that the schools can pull a list of applicants/ admitted students with seat deposits elsewhere at some point this month.

Re: UCLA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
I met a lot of people at ASD that were debating between UCLA with close to a full ride and top 10 schools with significantly less money. If they go the Top 10 route they'll likely bring people off the waitlist. There is hope! UCLA's deposits are due on the 21st (not 15th) so you may need to wait a couple of days until they sift through who will attend.

In! Got the call earlier today while I was at another school's open house.
Oh, I applied in mid-January, for those of you who are wondering.

My LSAT is between the 25th and 50th percentile, and my GPA is above the 75th percentile. I have unique work experience, too.fallingwater wrote:stats? Oh and congrats!!!!!bluemonkey219 wrote:In! Got the call earlier today while I was at another school's open house.

Does anyone have any information about interviews? All I know is they're rare.

I had an interview. I was interviewed by Dean Schwartz. I was shocked when I received the email to schedule it since the FAQ says they don't offer them. I was offered admission and will be attending in the fall.

I had an interview too (via Skype).
It was very similar to my Chicago interview.
I am kind of a strange candidate, so I think it was just to get a better handle on who I am not-on-paper. I don't think I performed particularly well in the interview, but they admitted me anyway.
Edit to provide advice: My advice for you is to go to this conversation:
http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=200887
Use the lists of questions that people have posted (especially the Chicago lists). Use those to prep yourself for the UCLA interview.

I would say I'm a strange candidate as well. Did they offer any money? And how soon after the interview did you hear back?theonerd wrote:I had an interview too (via Skype).

I heard back about a week after the interview and had scholarship information about 2 weeks from the interview date.

Slightly less serious question: has anyone given any thought to what type of picture you're going to submit for the student ID? It says it will be used for seating charts and the class yearbook.
I've been debating pulling something off of Facebook or putting on a suit and tie and just taking a picture at home that doesn't involved someone cropped out. Sadly (or thankfully) I don't have many selfies. My pictures usually involve friends.

I withdrew on Friday, and I was admitted to the PILP program, so hopefully someone gets my spot!

Just got the call, I'm in! Definitely going to withdraw from the USC WL.
eta: UCLA is a serious contender for me, but I've never even been to California...I know visiting day has passed, but does anyone think it's still possible to receive some sort of a travel stipend? I'd love to see the campus and LA.

don't know where you are from....but the visit convinced me last year to attend....I visited in Feb. and it was 78 degrees back home it was -5....
LA is pretty cheap to fly into...you could find a room to rent for a nite or two. thats what it did on Airbnb.....
for the amount you are spending on Law school....500-1000 isn't much to spend to be sure.

Re: UCLA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
Thanks! Yea everything I've heard about the school is positive--glad to hear it again though! And I'm in north Florida, so while the temperatures are probably comparable, the humidity/stickiness is a huge difference, which is great lol. A flight is just under 500 round trip, which, like you said, is not much in the large scheme of things...but until I get more student loans (which won't happen until law school starts), money is that tight I sent an email out, so I have my fingers crossed for some sort of assistance.uconjak wrote:Dobie1dobie1 wrote:Just got the call, I'm in!
