i withdraw my earlier statement recommending that people ignore/triage LP. Put some effort into creating good writing sample, not having a decent one is quite the bitch

Let me know if you haven't been sent this yet, I still owe you chocolate when I arrive in St. Louis!MarkinKansasCity wrote:I'm interested to meet the incoming 1Ls when I get back to St. Louis in a week. Somebody PM me the facebook group.
Blergh. This is good to know, but unfortunate.cusenation wrote:i withdraw my earlier statement recommending that people ignore/triage LP. Put some effort into creating good writing sample, not having a decent one is quite the bitch
I'll be driving from CA to St Louis next week with my roommate, should be a fun if long trip. I'll be stopping in Kansas City along the way to run a speed test on google fiber so I can tell my children about what gigabit speeds were like before comcast / time warner merge and control the world.

Is the community service project part of orientation optional?

Are there any Healthcare plans that fit Wash U's requirements? I called both Blue Shield and Coventry and was told that neither did (Blue shield doesn't include BJH and Coventry doesn't provide for care outside the U.S.). These were the only two providers on the healthcare.gov site for Missouri.

i don't know if anything at WashU is ever truly "required"theycallmefoes wrote:Is the community service project part of orientation optional?
I'd still go to the thing though because it's a chance to meet new classmates and play with cute dogs (if you did the pet clinic). There's a chance that some of your new classmates will suck. Actually nvm, some of them will suck. So these orientation events can be a way to figure out who to avoid early so you're not stuck sitting next to some fucktard all semester in class because u didn't know any better when u chose your seat.

I don't think that's offered anymore, although I'd love to do it. If I'm missing something please let me know/send me the link

Hi Guys,
I applied to WUSTL but will be attending elsewhere.
This is a little off-topic, but I was wondering what the situation is on the ground. Is everyone okay? Have you noticed a significant change in the atmosphere around campus? Just curious and a little concerned. Hope everyone is okay!

I only moved here a little less than a week ago, so take this with a grain of salt, but I honestly haven't even noticed it. I didn't have internet or a phone plan for the first couple of days and only found out about what's been going on because my ex asked about it and I didn't know how to answer her because I haven't seen a thing. It all looks pretty normal to memilkshakeyurd wrote:Hi Guys,

True. The news is giving the impression that STL is on lockdown, people are getting shot, there is mass rioting, journalists are getting arrested, etc.Cellar-door wrote: Ferguson is in the North Suburbs the city is the same as always.

Arrived in STL a few hours ago. Do I get an award for being the last 1L to show up? Looking forward to meeting people tomorrow.

If anyone still needs to buy books, I have the ones I used for Mandelker, Badawi and Goldwasser. Willing to sell cheap.

Mandelker singing along to a song about not selling the land was a bizarre yet amusing experience as I went over the cases for today's lecture...
