What's your end goal?
It really depends on if you're starting afresh, or if you have a job lined up here, say, with a local office of your foreign firm, or if you're going back to the old country as someone with a US degree. The more you're willing to share, the better the advice

I have my own private practice, but I want to try myself in the US, so the idea is to move and stay in the US, but I have an option also to work in my country just in more interesting sphere of law with the US degree.
Then pick a state where an LLM is sufficient and don't do a JD
