Hastings: No
Tulane: Not with that GPA
U Houston: Possible, but unlikely
It doesn't really matter though. Don't go to any of these schools off the waitlist. They are not even close to being worth sticker price.

It's true, something like 12% get big firm jobs. Sucks to be one of the other 88% having spent 200k. Even for those of us lucky enough to land decent jobs (by my estimate, 25% or so of the class), paying off that kind of debt is a huge struggle.
People considering any California law school other than Stanford, Berkeley, UCLA or USC are either grossly misinformed, or are just unrealistically optimistic.

Thanks for all the responses. Law school is definitely expensive but thankfully I won't have to take on any debt.
Mick Haller - have you managed to secure employment in SF? of the 25% of UCH grads which landed employment, what's your guess of average salary?

OP, if you've got $259,171 (UC Hastings COA) in the bank, keep doing whatever it is that you're doing that you saved that much.

Retake the LSAT and get over these schools' medians.
Schools almost never accept applicants with sub 3 GPAs and below median LSAT scores, unless they need to fill up some sticker seats.

It's more like 45-50% that have landed full time lawyer positions. 20% earn $80k+. 10% earn $160k. The other 15-20% who are working full time as lawyers? Probably earning something in the 40-70k range. Many of these are going to be public interest and government types.
But half of the class is either (a) unemployed, (b) working part time, or (c) not working as lawyers. Who knows what these people are earning, but it almost certainly doesn't justify a $250k cost of attendance.
In fact, none of the salary ranges justify that cost of attendance except the 10% earning 160k. That's why I said only 20% are working full time, and earning enough to reasonably pay their debts.
TL;DR - don't go to Hastings. Keep your current job.

For all that is holy and right please keep your job. Do not pick amongst these schools.
