Effects of softs after WL decision

Its a well-known fact that soft are secondary to numbers for law school admissions. However, how about once a wait list decision has been rendered?

Do unique softs (international experience, prestigious fellowships, academic publications, etc.) help an applicant overcome numbers below median/25th percentile once a waitlist decision has been decided?

I've been waitlisted at two T14 schools where my numbers would lead to an auto-ding. Should be optimistic at the chances of admissions off the wait list or was the decision more of a soft-ding?

Depends on the school.

Well, Columbia is a soft-ding. But are you a URM? You should be auto-ding, so priority WL at Gtown is definitely outperforming your numbers as a traditional applicant.

Non-URM minority (South-Asian)

Best bet would be GULC? Any suggestions beyond a LOCI, campus visit and requesting an alumni interview?

Sounds like you already know the drill.
