Hey guys. Have any of you appealed your decisions? Is this standard practice? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

It is not standard practice, and a number of schools don't allow it. Check the specific school you're considering.

you can try, but i think the conventional wisdom here is it wont be worth the effort or time ( they will still say no if they even allow it- check their policies online). But admissions people are humans ( or at least pretend to be humans) so there is a chance they could make a decision in your favor. If you really want to get in, retake in June and score above the 75% and send the application in as soon as you can in the fall

This is the fifth thread you've created in two days with an obvious answer. Settle down and use the search function or google.

I thought this thread was going to be about the appeal of different posters on here.

I only appeal my decisions if the rejection letter is a banana.

I've never heard of anyone appealing...but my guess is that it will 100% not work unless you're bringing something new to the table such as new LSAT score or improved GPA. Maybe some kind of work-related/school-related accomplishment? But even then..decisions are usually set in stone. Simply writing a letter saying "But I really wanted to go" will almost certainly not get you anywhere.

I'm not sure what school you're talking about or what your original chances were, but if you really want to go to this one school that badly then you should consider retaking and applying again next year

So many funnies have happened on this thread while I have been away. Props to guana and TripTrip - quite witty of you both.

We should start posting photos of ourselves and turn it into that type of appealing thread... helix, you first.

I didn't appeal a decision, rather I asked why I didn't get accepted. The dean wrote a nice email back and said he'd be more than happy to chat about it and to go over things the committee didn't like, etc. This was a school where I was over both 75's, so I was just curious to see if my PS totally sucked or if I messed up somewhere. I am not trying to appeal or fight it though, but to get some info on why. After all, I did pay $75 to apply.

That's a great idea. I suppose after putting in all of the work, effort, money, etc., it's worthwhile to determine where you went wrong.

Does anyone have any worthwhile success stories re: appealing a decision worth sharing?
