Phone for me. I really am thinking long and hard about UH. It is such a big move, but more and more I think it is what I want. We will see.eomea5 wrote:are people hearing by phone or email? checked the thread from last year and it seems like most of those for c/o 2015 heard by phone. wondering if that has been the case this year as well.

Re: University of Hawaii Class of 2016
Aloha Everyone!
My name is Sommerset and I am the University of Hawaii Law School Visit Coordinator. I am currently a 2L at UH Law. To answer some of the questions I have seen, I just wanted to let you all know that the admissions office does everything online (no paper). Also, I know from experience that the law school offers little or no merit-based scholarships, and doesn't have the resources to negotiate. As a school, they try to keep tuition low so it does not have the resources to give out too many merit-based scholarships. If you need need-based aid, file the FAFSA ASAP. They package in order of FAFSA received. Hope that helps!
Sommerset
P.S.- if you are interested in a tour of the school, please visit our website and I'd be happy to set one up for you!

Isn't that their max limit they offer? That's pretty good. Although I guess you are OOS so it'll still be a bit of debt. Any other folks? I'm curious whether it is purely merit based. I'm also confused by what it says on their website because they mentioned that only 5 people received conditional scholarship offers? Does that mean only 5 people got scholarships or are there a whole bunch of non-conditional scholarships (guaranteed) or did everyone else get grants? It just seemed like an exceptionally small number of people to offer money to on merit.

Just want to know when/if you receive package in the mail after acceptance. Seriously considering after being accepted a couple of weeks ago. Having trouble signing into the site though.
