Anyone apply, or hear anything back yet? 158, 3.73 went complete 11/30 and under review 12/5. Good luck to everyone else!

I would be a bad TLS'er if I didn't tell you to retake the LSAT with that nice GPA.

If you will, let me know what kind of scholarship you receive. Very interested with those numbers.

Lol same.

Where are you from and where have you been looking with those numbers.

I am in NJ now, but I could still claim NY residency, but my primary goal would be to attend Rutgers Newark with a strong scholly and instate tuition.

I couldn't see paying sticker at a T30 or attending anywhere else TBH?

Im about an hour upstate from NYC. So far Im in at SUNY Buffalo with 8K/year and Northeastern. Ive also applied to Fordham, BC, BU and Cornell(lol). I also considered Rutgers, but for some reason didn't apply. Also considering the typical TLS route of retaking the LSAT

Just some food for thought. You could claim nj residency before 1L through rutgers. They also place well in clerkships/govt so if you get in with scholly money it isn't a bad option.

That's my plan at least.

Your school list is about the same as mine.

Ill update when I get my dec retake score :P

Was under review, and today it changed to "Application Received." Anyone else get this? Sounds off to me, should I call the admissions office just to see what's up?

I called and they said that many applications that went under review last week had errors when the data was transferred from LSAC. They reloaded the data, but something in the process required them to reset the status checkers for those applicants. Status will change back to Under Review in the next few days.

Checking in! Applied early November, and have been "in review" since 11/16. According to LSN they don't generally have a big wave of acceptances until January. Has anyone heard anything different? Above 75% for both LSAT and GPA.

Anyone else get the financial aid email with the ability to make a MySlice account with a student ID number? I find it a little weird since a decision hasn't been made yet, I'm not even in review. :?:

Yes I received the same email. I contacted the office and they told me to go ahead and apply for financial aid even though no decision had been made. Seems odd to do so.

Anyone that is considering attending $yracuse University $chool of Law and paying $45,690+ for tuition and fees should understand that in the July 2012 New York Bar Exam $yracuse finished #12 among the 15 New York Law Schools being a full 5% below the State average pass rate.

Just 2 years ago $yracuse University $chool of Law finished "DFL" among 15 New York Law Schools.

Two of the past 3 years $yracuse has finished behind C.U.N.Y School of Law which charges tuition of just $15,000+/- per year.

Stated another way - - three years of tuition at CUNY which has a better bar pass rate than Syracuse University amounts to the tuition for just one year at Syracuse University. This post is not intended to advance C.U.N.Y but to point out the seeming outrageous tuition which $U charges.

I invite the $yracuse University loyalists to defend their school's tuition when compared with its bar pass rate.

Below is a link summarizing NY Bar Pass Rates:

Dang, kid. It is crazy overpriced, hence why I personally wasn't planning on attending unless I get pretty decent scholarships and shiz, but I think we're all capable of researching the schools we plan to attend for ourselves, thanks.

And the tuition at CUNY is around 14k not 15k for residents ;D

Tuition is actually less than that. There's a mandatory materials fees that covers your books, etc.

Apparently you do not understand what the "+/-" after the $15,000 in my above post means.

OK... let me break this down so you can understand it: this year the cost of attending CUNY Law (excluding living expenses, book & supplies) is $7,235.85 per semester.

Because most students attend 2 semesters per year the annual cost of attendance (excluding living expenses, book & supplies) is $14,471.70.

$14,471.70 which equals $15,000+/-

Capice?

3x14,471.70=43,413.
Tuition at Syracuse is 45,690. Do you understand this simple math or should I use words instead of numbers? :)

If you wish to discuss the pros/cons of attending SU in your annoying manner, take it to the "Choosing a Law School" threads, this is just for people who have had decisions rendered on their applications. Thank you.

There's no question that the tuition is way too damn high. But Syracuse does have some national reach. CUNY has none.
