Didn't see a thread for it. Submitted my app at the beginning of October, but I'm assuming we will not be hearing anything until January?

Think there's any chance of a decision before the holidays?
And has anyone heard anything about the new medians yet? Seems pretty late in the year for them not to have posted stats for the class of 2015.

Also just went under review as well, though I'm being realistic and expecting a waitlist like last year. The school claimed on a different thread that it needed to comply with some regulation thing and "audit" their numbers, which just sounds like an excuse to postpone publishing some lackluster admission numbers.

That's probably why... I don't want to wait till the USNWR Rankings come out in March to find out their new numbers

Anyone heard any word from Illinois yet? I expected to at least see some early decision action on LSN by now. I'm beginning to wonder whether we'll start seeing decisions before we hear any official word of 2015 numbers. When it rains it pours, I guess.

OMG
They maintained their previous LSAT median of 163... but GPA dropped by 0.15 and admit rate went up by 23%....

43% and the class size is much smaller than in previous years, and first year attrition has gone up as well. I'm fairly disturbed.

Will being above the 75% GPA this year instead of just over median last year make a significant difference? My LSAT is still below median.

I don't know how significant a difference it will make, but it certainly improves your chances. Particularly if your LSAT is at/above the 25th percentile.

I'm guessing we'll start hearing news around the second week of January?

It's definitely disturbing, but until it starts affecting employment numbers, I don't know if it matters too much.
I know there are a few UIUC students around, so hopefully they'll chime in.

I've been thinking about it, and I think this stems back to Indiana giving away huge scholarships 2 years ago because of that Maurer endowment they got. They were able to buy a lot of Midwestern LSATs, and these higher LSATs eventually withdrew from Illinois. Admissions is a hard game to play for directors and deans, they have to look at 5000 applications, admit 1000, and try to figure out which 200 will actually show up in August. Well that year, the high LSATs withdrew. Pless shit the bed, and changed 163 to a 168. He had changed medians in the past, but only 165s to 166, and the class of 2013 had an honest 167, so the idea of going to a 163 probably freaked him out. Anyway, scandal breaks, you know the rest. However, Illinois has been announcing that they just completed a 50 million dollar donations campaign. I think theyre going to take some of this money and buy what they can for the up coming rankings. However, I think the money will come into serious play over this cycle and the next. I think that Illinois will go the Indiana route, and just buy the fuck out of the rankings. Just giving full rides to 166+ applicants like Indiana did two years ago. I think we might slip into the 40s this coming year, unless they were able to mitigate a drop by bolstering their standing in other parts of the ranking metric. But I think they will give big bucks so they can buy big numbers. Once they do that, they could shoot back u p to where they were. Once they scholarships go back to normal, the rankings might take a slight dip, but I predict relative stability in 2 years time in the high 20s. This could all be bullshit. I'm just kinda spitballing what could happend
