I think all the status checkers (or many) are not working.

I was accepted yesterday and I received an email right after my status checker changed. So you can still stalk your inbox. Good luck!

Re: Rutgers Camden c/o 2016 Applicants
My status checker just says "a decision had been reached" and i have a letter in the mail and there is a box saying they haven't received my final transcript yet. No clue what any of this means.
UPDATE: Turns out my acceptance email went directly into my spam folder for some reason.

Think this is as bad as waiting for the LSAT scores. Hope I am one of the one's getting a decision today.

Haha yeah this sucks! I'm hoping I get in as well. This is a realistic school for me to attend because I live about 20 minutes away. I'm hoping for some money thrown my way, because I'm pretty strapped financially. Congrats to those accepted, and hopefully we all hear back shortly.

So now Rutgers law schools are merging? Think that has any effect on the long decisions?

My acceptance letter was in my spam folder too. Glad I saw this or I would have never checked. Had been sitting there since the 20th.

I got in last year but deferred. I dropped off my deposit last week. I live in Philly now... where are you all looking to live? I'll probably get a place in Collingswood.
And WTF, this is huge news. Camden and Newark are merging into one law school.

Still waiting on a decision here. Rutgers Camden, my #1 choice in law schools, also the last school to respond to me this application cycle. If they deny me, I bite the bullet and nearly double my debt at Drexel. This wait is excruciating!!

Re: Rutgers Camden c/o 2016 Applicants
Congrats to the new admits! I got in on Monday and received my acceptance package today complete with a pink baseball hat, 2 shirts and 2 banners. All of the swag said Rutgers School of Law, no mention of Camden. I wonder if this is new? I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about the merger. I just don't want to become a satellite campus where our classes are Newark ones broadcasted into a room with a projector screen.

haha 2 shirts, 2 banners, and a pink baseball hat? Mind posting a picture? That just sparked some curiosity. (esp the hat)

Just took a quick cell phone pic. I wonder if they send pink hats to everyone? Or did they know I'm fabulous?

Re: Rutgers Camden c/o 2016 Applicants
Rutgers Camden and Newark are planning on merging into one law school due to the declining number of applicants due to the stigma of having Camden and Newark attached to the name of the school. They feel that since Rutgers has such a good national brand that eliminating the Camden and Newark titles and putting everything under one school called Rutgers Law School, the school will become more prestigious.
Not to mention being able to take classes in close proximity to Philly AND New York will mean more options for all the students instead of basically being stuck in North Jersey/New York for Newark and Philly/Delaware/South Jersey for Camden.

Yeah, nothing I'd love to do more than sit in traffic on the turnpike for two hours.

This isn't new, all of the RU-C Law and RU-N Law swag I've seen just says "Rutgers Law" on it. If you read one of the newspaper stories about this proposed merger, a professor is quoted as saying essentially, "Yeah, part of the reason this is good is because I can finally stop explaining to people that there are actually two Rutgers law schools."steakandchicken wrote:All of the swag said Rutgers School of Law, no mention of Camden. Which, frankly, makes sense.

BTW, Im an 0L, so what do I know? I'm sure they have their reasons. Excited to hear back! I'm from that area, but in a place called Marlton/Cherry Hill area. Marlton is a really nice town and its fairly inexpensive to live there if you look in the right places.

Seems like a great idea to me, and I'm sure admissions standards will go up once they consolidate their application process. (Glad I applied this year.)

Anybody live in Collingswood? I feel like that's the town to which I'll likely move. The dryness kind of irks me, but whatever. PATCO access is pretty key for me, so I think I'll stay away from the Cherry Hill/Marlton area.

Patco goes through Cherry Hill... Woodcrest, Ashland and Haddonfield stations all accommodate Cherry Hill residents.2LT_CPG wrote:Anybody live in Collingswood? Coolingswood isn't nice at all. I would stick with Cherry Hill or Voorhees.

Patco doesn't go through Cherry Hill, and those other stops are far away enough that you would have to drive to them, kinda eliminating the point of taking public transportation. Also, Collingswood is a pretty nice area. I'd say on the same level as Cherry Hill/Haddonfield.jvsj wrote:Patco goes through Cherry Hill...
