I'd assume it's being triggered by the "University" and "Washington" keywords, not "University of Washington." Although a lot of people do accidentally confuse them for each other (both ways), so I think the nefariousness of trying to poach UW applicants would be cancelled out by trying to capture those who meant to search for Wash U.

I think what Romney is noting isn't that WUSTL is poaching UW students, it's that they're resorting to Google Ads at all, which is stereotypically used by TTT/online law schools?

No response to that, although it would seem to me that the type of people to apply to a law school because of an online ad are exactly the type of people who wouldn't get into WUSTL anyway. So WUSTL forks over some money for the ad, and gets a cheaply lowered admission percentage that USNWR factors into the rankings.

Within an hour of joining TLS he posts this in our thread and creates his own thread just to bitch about Google ads. Seems like a troll to me. Probably just some UW applicant who saw the WUSTL ad in a Google search and created an alt just to bitch about it. Seriously who else creates an entire thread to discuss something like that?
