An analyst with an MLB team seems like the ultimate entry level job if your goal is to become a GM. How would a law degree help you?

Major League teams can go to any Ivy league school and have hundreds of econ/math majors begging for an opportunity to crunch numbers for them (which happens every year). If you want to get to management you need something that sets you apart from the ordinary guy. Law degrees help with contracts and salary arbitration hearings. Every team's managment has one or two guys that understand the laws and CBA that govern the sport. Go Google the front offices of a few teams. You will find quite a few JDs lying around.

Don't worry, wannabe. Last year, acceptances reported on LSN accounted for about 24% of the total # of acceptances they made, and about 5% of the total number of applications they received. Assuming a (modest) 10% drop in applications this year, they should receive around 3,600 and accept about 790. There've been 137 reported acceptances on LSN so far, which means that around 560 people have been accepted. Thus, WUSTL probably has about 220 more acceptances to make, or about 55 more reported acceptances on LSN. It's not over
