I really love this kind of stuff because it lets me know that they care (or creates the appearance at least) about me attending their school. Who all is paying the deposit and plans on matriculating this fall?
Which professor was it?

It seems as if everyone is discussing on the FB page rather than on TLS. I'd suggest asking there if no one responds here. Last I checked, it had 135 members and was pretty active; plus there are some current students in there that can answer any questions about the school you or others may have. Unfortunately, I am not a member, so I can't see what people are talking about.

Been on the waitlist since early February. I realize it's purely speculative but does anyone have any information about the chances of getting off the waitlist?

Dean Perez has a post in the general law admissions forum where he touched on the subject. I recommend you go find the exact quote, but he mentioned that it was quite difficult. You're on the waitlist for a reason and you need to do something to earn your way off of it. I believe he mentioned finding a way to improve your application and then submitting a LOCI. If you want a chance to get off the waitlist, he expects a LOCI.

Also, I'm withdrawing today to open up my seat and scholarship. I'm engaged and must consider the desires of my fiancee when it comes to choosing a law school. I'd love to stay where I did my undergrad, but she will be the one working while I am in school. Since she wants Dallas and will be the one paying most of my CoL, it's in my best interest to attend elsewhere.

Good luck everyone.
Wow, this is surprisingly similar to my situation. I have a long term gf who wants me to stay in Dallas while I attend SMU for this very reason.

Just received a letter to candidates on this year's waitlist from Dean Perez discussing the cycle this year and mentioned that you should write a LOCI if you haven't already done so.

Cliffs from the letter:
Send a LOCI if you're still interested
Withdraw if you're not
Waitlist possibly more "active" this year
No timetable but after both deposits is a likely time for waitlist movement

Congrats! Any more information? Scores, when did you send in a LOCI, etc.? I ask because I'm waitlisted here as well and would love some advice to help get off myself. Regretfully, I believe the first LOCI I sent in about a month and a half back (right after being waitlisted) was too short and largely inept and am now considering sending in a second letter in early May. Any advice?

Truthfully, I don't know if I can pin point what got me in. I'll message you with my application process which might provide insight or maybe even comfort

Just here to bump this thread and ask if anyone on the waitlist received a check-in email from Dean Perez a few weeks ago mentioning that he anticipates accepting a group off the waitlist in 2-3 weeks (any day now)? This waiting process has been rough but I'm still hopeful!
