I don't know how much I can be of help, since I'm only in UG there and not law, but I have some contact info for professors and admissions staff if y'all want to communicate with them about the school (or ask for fee waivers - they seem pretty generous with them). I'd also be thrilled to answer any questions about life in Tuscaloosa: good housing, good BBQ, etc.
Good luck to y'all! Feel free to PM me.

Alabama is my first choice, and my farthest reach. I will probably be held until Spring within the next month unless they like my Public Interest geared softs.
GPA: 3.69 (3.76)
LSAT: 164
I think you're selling yourself short. I definitely wouldn't call Alabama a reach for you. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you got an initial acceptance, but would be very surprised if you didn't get accepted off the waitlist. That said, all cycles are different.

Okay guys,
First signs of significant movement came 11/21 last year and there was a wave the year before on 11/30 so hopefully we'll be seeing the first wave soon.

Just got a call from Marcus Cotton, the assistant director of admissions, asking if I had any questions and letting me know that my application was headed to committee. He said there'd be a decision in the next few weeks. Nice touch, I thought.

My status date changed to today's date (11/21) but the checker still says "Application Under Review." Anyone else have that happen?

Nope. Nothing.
It seems like they are on a high LSAT kick right now. Your above 75th LSAT has probably gotten their attention.

Because I want to live (and practice) in the South, I like several of their clinic options, good reputation, I don't want to spend a fortune on my legal education.
It's not the only place I'm applying to by far, but it's where I want to go providing it works out financially.

Did you e-mail them for the waiver?

I tried to solicit a fee waiver from them, but they said they only give them from CRS searches or if you have an LSAC fee waiver.

I got a fee waiver email today. My numbers are pretty shitty, but I suppose it's worth the 20 bucks for a Hail Mary
