Checking in. I received the "File Complete" email on November 2nd. I have received no additional correspondence since then. Would anyone recommend I email them to ask for the information... or should I just wait? Judging by their pattern of admissions, it seems like the wait will be very long.

154; 3.9; male; URM; TX; very strong softs.

Yeah, they seem pretty explicit about making decisions much later in the cycle than normal. Also, their admissions website is very curt, and most people report getting short, sometimes even one line responses from admissions, so they probably don't have much of a staff assigned to admissions until the spring. Just sit back, relax, and try not to think about it for a while.

I got one about a student with similar involvement as me from my undergraduate institution. We are all non-uniquely special.

It was a nice touch, though, especially since there are almost NO graduates from my school represented in the top 30ish law schools.

The application is only a letter of reference, so I don't see any harm in applying. Do you know if applications are through invitation only or if are they accessible to everyone?

Is this invitation going out to everyone? I got it too, might apply if they've actually pinned us as individuals who seem qualified.

I didn't apply earlier since the finalists have to travel to Atlanta and do some stuff. Seems like a lot of work for a scholarship I probably won't get at a school I probably won't end up going to.

I did not receive the invitation, but that may be because I already submitted my letter of recommendation for the scholarship in mid-October.

Just a little bit SE of Syracuse. I'm really excited not to live in that area anymore.

Dinosaur BBQ: great restaurant or best restaurant?
best restaurant. Minus the crazy waiting times to get a table
Correct answer.

Sorry to hijack the thread. Good thing we have lots of waiting time ahead.
The correct answer was, "inexplicably overrated". I think the only reason it's popular is bc it's the only non terrible pun restaurant in cuse. I'm looking at you pastabilities.

But yeah... What's with this wait? It seems like its a good way to give us a decision after we have already been admitted and courted by other schools.

Enjoy Columbia.

Got the invite- my gpa is in this range and my LSAT significantly lower.

Wasn't there a portion of the application that asked if you were considering to apply for this particular scholarship? Maybe that made the difference.

yes there was, and I declined because I had no idea what the heck it was.

Still got the invite, and I'm now applying.

167/3.85, long shot I'm sure. Not a URM, average softs.

Interesting. Well, never mind that. Perhaps those who are getting it are on their list for likely acceptances. Lucky for you, if that's the case. (I mean, why invite someone to apply for a scholarship if you're not at least thinking about letting them in?)

1. How involved are the alumni? Emory has quite an impressive endowment, which makes one think there are at least some strong alumni connections?

2. From your personal experience, are the faculty truly receptive with open doors, or are they more concerned with their own academc endeavors? More or less I'd like to know how the potetial student-faculty rapport is?

3. How happy are you, overall, with your choice to go there?

Thanks!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
