I'll make the reception at 3:45. I already got the UGA Law spiel and sat in on Contracts while an UG. I'm pretty sold. Anyone know if there's a bar at the reception?dstars823 wrote:anyone gonna be at ASD?
Also, deposit deadlines are the same whether you received $ or not, right? (May 1 and June 1)

I am attending ASD this weekend and got a call today from UGA asking if I had any questions. They also asked whether or not I had committed to UGA in the fall and what other schools I was looking into. Anyone else get a call?

I also got a phone call asking if I had any questions and if I was committed to UGA despite that I was an ED applicant haha.2012Lsatscore wrote:tco1084 wrote:I am attending ASD this weekend and got a call today from UGA asking if I had any questions. No. Your numbers probably had a lot to do with it.

I'll be at ASD too.
And I didn't get a call. I did get a letter in the mail asking me to please seriously consider choosing UGA, but maybe my numbers aren't high enough for them to bother calling. They're sure not T14 numbers anyway.

My friend was accepted pretty late in the game and I don't think it took her longer than 2 weeks to get the $.ha-ri wrote:How long after the email acceptance did you guys get the physical letter and $$$ information?

I'll be at ASD. Looking forward to it.
Anyone know specifics about the activities planned, if anything other than a speech and meet&greet?

Took just a few days for me to get the packet. The $ offer came one week later.ha-ri wrote:How long after the email acceptance did you guys get the physical letter and $$$ information?
I'd take some pictures, but my camera is crap. But I'd be happy to do a little writeup about the ASD and post it in the thread.

If anyone needs a room for ASD tonight and tomorrow, I have a reservation at the UGA Conference Center Hotel. Because of work I can't go, and I forgot to cancel the room. The rate they booked me at is $89 a night, plus tax. I don't know if they'd transfer that rate to someone or not, you'd have to call to find out. PM me if you're interested.

Welcome speech by Dean, comments by Admissions Dean and one of the professors, employment opportunities panel with current students, moot court exhibition with current students, tours, reception, not necessarily in that orderNed Racine wrote:I'll be at ASD. Looking forward to it.

Are you thinking about going a different weekend? That's the idea I've been chewing on for a while. It is usually really cheap to get a room, this was just a busy weekend for Athens.LittleBlueBird wrote:so sorry. my job has been such a pain lately. a coworker quit, and i had to take over her position, effective today. so crazy, so stressful. i wish i could have gone to ASD.BlueJeanBaby wrote:Ah! Mack- You should definitely call and maybe write a letter. A good amount of people who were accepted after you received scholarship info already, and if you have #s to get into Emory you should def be getting something.

I got 18k a year from Emory so I'm thinking that should give me some good leverage. Any idea how much I can expect/"ask" for from UGA? Will give them a call on Monday!BlueJeanBaby wrote:Mack- You should definitely call and maybe write a letter.
