For those of you looking for apartments...
RentAthens.com is pretty cool. They have a lot of available spaces in various places around Athens. I may use them to get a place in either Baldwin Square or University Towers.

I was considering University Towers but someone told me that they always have sewage backups/ cleaning problems (throw up in the elevators) and are very undergrad focused. All the reviews online are horrible too. Also, just because properties are listed on their website doesn't mean they are available. Many never even became available for lease (I actually paid my application fee and filled out the info sheet to RentAthens because they said the one I wanted would be available. Found out at last that it never did become available and was not reimbursed the application $). Of course, my experience with them is just one of many.erin0715@me.com wrote:For those of you looking for apartments...

Hmm... I was planning on going to UGA until I got the Dean's Scholarship from Georgia State today. It will give me $2,500 for the first year and a Graduate Research Assistantship position that entitles me to a $2,000 yearly stipend and full tuition waiver for the second and third year.
I'm interested in health law and Georgia State is #3 in the nation for it. It is also way closer than UGA to Atlanta's major hospitals and the CDC.
But, I also love UGA and want to go there.
What do you guys think I should do/consider?
I may use this scholarship as leverage at UGA. Do you think it will work? I didn't previously receive one.

You should probably give us the total COA at each school like everyone said in your other thread http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 1&t=206387

Wherever anyone on here decides to live, do not make it University Towers. There is a club in the basement/lower floor area. If you're one of the floors on the bottom half (especially the first couple), studying through the noise is going to be an uphill battle.

Anyone know the email address for the admissions office? I sent one to ugajd@uga.edu and haven't heard anything back. Is there a better one to use?

My girlfriend was on the UGA waitlist last year and ended up being accepted to Emory, without ever hearing back from UGA. My best advice is to submit a seat deposit to your second choice and keep UGA in the loop about your interests.arodasi wrote:No clue. The guy next to me at orientation this year, 4 days before, had gotten off the wait list. So it happens.

I don't understand this attitude at all. You're not entitled to get into any school, and you're not such a special snowflake that the school needs you. If youre not considering the school anymore then tell them.2012Lsatscore wrote:so withdraw.arodasi wrote:

Just got my acceptance email! Am leaning towards GWU, but the money situation is going to weigh big. I guess I'll have to see if I'm offered any kind of scholarship.

Accepted today (at least I'm pretty sure). I say this because I got 2 emails from uga. One was a link to the admitted students page and the other was an invite to admitted students day. No official acceptance email though. Also my status checker still says under review. Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

Whiskey, I received a similar pair of emails, though mine started off with "congratulations on being admitted" before telling me about the portal.

I added some character to our admitted students page. So "like" it if you are enrolling in the class of 2016!

Got my scholarship letter in the mail. $3k/year (I'm already in-state). Was surprised I got anything at all, consider I'm a super splitter (2.3 / 167).
