I went complete 12/6, updated again on 12/10 and my status checker said that a decision was made 1/2.

While it is nice to see some L&C movement, I'd like to see movement on my file too please. :)
I'm still complete.

got a 22k/year scholarship. Sounded pretty good, but then realized their tuition is 39k/year when I start.

Congratulations! That may be the biggest scholarship yet. Did you receive any phone calls?

Has anybody received any phone calls? Are they doing that this year?

What's your GPA/LSAT and when did you apply? Just curious as a L&C hopeful.

Thanks! I never got any phone calls, just the email and then snail mail.

My GPA/LSAT is 3.63/160 and I applied on 10/31. Good luck!

Does anyone know what their curve is? All I can find on the website is the "max" median which is 3.0. The wording makes me wonder if that means that the curve could be 2.2 or something super low.

Thoughts?

packet came today- 18,000 dean's scholarship. considering the offers that I've already received from minnesota and william and mary it was really disappointing. I mean, L&C isn't even ranked in the top fifty and the other schools made significantly higher offers. I really don't get it.

They give less scholarship money because they know people will still come. People want to move here. People want to go to the best environmental law school in the country even if the USNWR rankings don't place the school anywhere near the T14. Last year, they only gave out scholarships to about half of the students. Meaning half of the students paid the almost $40k sticker. In.This.Economy.
Of the 104 students who received scholarship money, 9 lost their scholarship funds, 16 had their scholarships reduced.

Congratulations to you as well!

What is a Dean's Scholarship? This is the first one mentioned in this thread.

Received my packet today. 15k a year 2.6 stip. Mine was also called a "Dean's Scholarship." I don't really think the name means anything special. They also offer $400 in travel reimbursement. So it seems I will definitely be making it to one of the preview days.

Grats! I'm still trying to find a cheap flight for that weekend myself.

Yes, I found this on the website:

"
Scholarships for Entering Students

Dean’s Scholarships for Excellence

These awards are awarded at the time the offer of admission is made. The scholarships are automatically renewed each year as long as the recipient maintains a 2.95 gpa and is in good disciplinary standing. The awards are based primarily on exceptional academic achievement and professional promise. The scholarship committee also takes financial need into consideration for those who qualify on merit.

Quinault Allottees: Nelson D. Terry Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually and is funded by the Quinault Indian Allottees Association. The scholarship is available to all incoming students, however, preference is given first to Quinault Allottees, then to Native American regional and national applicants with a connection to their culture and heritage.
"

So all non-Quinault scholarships are Dean's Scholarships?

Just got my package! 24k a year! Thrilled with this, can't wait to see the campus. lived in Portland for 10 years and never made it there. $400 is a generous travel stip, excited to make the trip home! Hope to see some of you there!

Thanks! It certainly makes L&C one of the top choices for me. With the option to live at home (wouldn't be thrilled after 8 years on my own, but an option nonetheless) the COA is looking pretty sweet.

Whoa! That is very impressive. Congrats! Are your numbers really high or do you think there is something else in your profile that makes you such a desirable candidate?

My numbers are not really high... 163 3.6. I'm originally from Portland and expressed a strong desire to end up back in the area, not sure if that made a difference. My softs aren't anything special - 3 yrs work experience in a legal field, some good volunteer work and student government involvement. If I had to guess, it would be my genuine interest in Portland.
