P.S. I will be going to the February ASD, definitely going dt the night before.
Dear TLSers~
Paper admissions packets were mailed to students admitted before January 31 late last week. For those admitted last week we expect to mail out paper packets later this week. Keep an eye on your mailboxes. I'll also be mailing paper aceptance letters with scholarship awards (suitable for framing ).
Let me know if you have other questions.
Warm regards,
Jay Shively

Dean,
I know this isn't about admissions, but Wake is high on my list and I have a question. Can you talk a bit about students coming from out of state having success finding employment in North Carolina? Ive heard rumors of some people from out of state being passed up during OCIs despite higher rankings etc for a North Carolina native, and having problems in general. I'm from out of state but have spent many summers in NC and would like to start my career there and this seems like a unique opprotunity to address a concern of mine.
Thanks.

Never knew this was a concern, but I am in the same boat as you.
Looking to uproot from the Tri-State area - Too damn expensive to live here.

Dear Dean Shively,
Thanks so much for answering these questions! I was wondering what kind of things do you look for when awarding scholarship money. I know numbers play a huge part, but are there any other factors you look for? I'm curious because after looking at Lawschoolnumbers.com it seems there is kind of a wide range of applicants receiving scholarships. I'm very interested in Wake and would love to attend, but with my career goals I am very debt averse and would really hope to receive some scholarship funding (assuming you liked my interview and admit me, of course!) Thanks again!
Edit: Nevermind, I was admitted and received a scholarship. Thank you so much for the thorough review of my application!

Already have 3 of us for the March 1st date.

April?
If you're bringing the kilt - Check out Finnegan's Wake in downtown Winston. Great bar that would appreciate your style.
Naaa, Kilt stays at home, for now. lol
4 of us are driving up from Florida on the evening of the 28th and might stay through to Saturday the 2nd. Anyone who wants to meet up or see the area, just let me know.

Thinking I might make it up for March 1. Wake is my top choice but right now I don't have a scholarship (haven't gotten packet yet though) so I am not sure if it is worth going up without one. Keeping my eyes open for a cheap flight or deciding whether it is worth a 10ish hour drive up 95 lol.Ghost Bear wrote:Now that more information is out, who is attending which Admitted Students Day?

How long did it take for those who submitted a video and went under review a second time to receive a decision?

Four of us are carpooling. We are in Orlando. I assume you are nearby, as it is also a 10ish hour drive 'up' 95 for us too. I'm ok with trying to work something out. I mean, as long as you don't look like Jason Voorhees or carry an axe around on random road trips.1693 wrote:Thinking I might make it up for March 1. Re: Wake Forest c/o 2016
I attempted to register for and complete my interview today but ran into technical issues. There was no video recording on my first practice run-through and then once I sorted that issue out and re-did the practice, it booted me into a "runtime error" page. Now no matter what I do (restart, clear cache and history, & c.), I cannot return to any page other than the runtime error page for LikeLive. I already contacted Dean Shively at admissions, but I wanted to check hear in case someone else has experienced a similar issue. Unlike issues reported earlier in this thread, this wasn't a problem of neglecting to submit, I never was able to start the actual interview recording. Thanks in advance and most importantly, good luck to fellow waiters!

Yeah I ran into problems after I recorded it, it failed to upload. I had to but in a request to resubmit and had to redo it. From what I've heard in this thread they've been pretty good at addressing people who have had problems. Don't worry!crossingfingers wrote:I attempted to register for and complete my interview today but ran into technical issues. I had an issue similar to that crossing. As long as you have contacted someone in the Wake admissions dept. you should not have an issue getting a resubmit. As an FYI, make sure to use a web program other than chrome (although I ran into problems using FireFox as well).
Good luck on your next interview!

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2016
Thanks very much to those above who responded. I was using FireFox and still ran into this issue for those that come across it in the future. I just tried logging in again (this was about my tenth try) and for whatever reason it ceased to kick me to the runtime error and I was allowed to log-in and successfully complete the interview (though it stopped once after about the first question, re-loaded, and then gave me another first question... yikes, talk about trying to adjust on the fly... hah). Either way, I now both have a submitted interview on record at Wake Forest Law as well as a very clear answer for anyone who asks "what is most hurried, least impressive interview you've ever completed in your life?" I was far too hurried and was attempting to keep my eyes on the webcam instead of the prompts so the fact that I only had 60 seconds to answer instead of the 90 that I was expecting really threw me for a loop. Shoot, I usually interview quite well and was excited about this opportunity to try and put a happy face to my application. Oh well, a valuable learning experience at the very least and I'll stay confident that it won't totally sink my chances! Thanks again all, and good luck to my fellow waiters!

Hey- thanks!! I am actually in Ft Lauderdale, so I guess I underestimated the trip haha. Although the way people drive down here maybe I am right to shave off about 3 hours. If I am fortunate enough to get a scholarship, I will see if there is room in that carpool! I may even leave the axe at home and chip in for gas too, haha. Are you leaning towards Wake or staying in Florida?
