Has anyone heard anything about soliciting need-based fee waivers?

I solicited a merit based one late last night and got a reply with a code by the time I woke up this morning. And my stats are not super stellar by any means - 168 and a 3.68 so I would definitely try for one if your applying here!

I applied about 3 weeks ago. 168, 3.92. Out of undergrad for 2 years with lots of travelling and work experience.

My app is complete, hope we'll get some decisions soon!

WOW, I figured their medians would have dropped a bit but those are some really competitive numbers.

The website says that their new numbers for 2012 isn't posted yet

I grabbed the numbers from LSAC. Doesn't give an updated date but I assumed it would be current. The 474 students matriculating coincides with 2011 numbers so it is likely they are last years stats. I will monitor and update them as soon as they are posted.

Pretty shady that they aren't up yet though...

Does anyone care to shed light on how GWU's dates work? I submitted in September, went complete 10/10 and I just checked my status checker and saw the date had changed to 10/30 even though it still just says complete. Is that an "under review" change or a "we mailed your decision" change?

2.99/168. I requested a fee waiver today and was denied based on merit but received one for being a former Peace Corps Volunteer. I was also told Teach for America participants qualify for a fee waiver.

Does anyone else get the impression from last year's LSN statistics that GW essentially auto-admits 168s and auto-waitlists all other non-URMs with competitive numbers? For instance, me - 167, 3.73

Yes, but to a 3.0 floor.

If GW's admissions policies are reflective of the school in general, GW may not be the school for me.

I submitted on a saturday and I didn't go complete until the following Monday. I suspect it's slow going on weekends.

And here's the direct link from the email. For some reason if you click it it's broken, but if you copy and paste it works.

Oh I had not tried that thanks!

I had been on the other page but kept trying the portal link and did not even notice the text link.

Anyway I am complete!
