People keep asking me why I care about other schools when I'm T-14 secure. It's because dropping $172K over the next three years isn't something I'm looking forward too and if I can mitigate that while still attending a good school then why not?JayJones78 wrote:It's okay, just smile all your way to Charlottesville (it's about a 90 min drive)danitt wrote:I'm beginning to think that this school is a figment of my imagination.JayJones78 wrote:The Black Friday theory fell down?wannabelawstudent wrote:We're....we're still here?

I have to take biglaw. As an international hoping to stay in the US post law school it's the best may to go about it.JayJones78 wrote:You want biglaw? You think your apps are safe. It is an illusion. A comforting lie told to protect you. Enjoy these final moments of peace.

You're Friday prediction went south. I do believe Monday and Tuesday will see some move.wannabelawstudent wrote:You think your apps are safe. It is an illusion. A comforting lie told to protect you. Enjoy these final moments of peace.
But, I also think most of my remaining apps will stay pending until the April deposit dates pass

First it was speeches by the dean and a few professors and such. Then we split up and had separate meetings to discuss financial aid, watch a mock trial, etc. All the student groups had booths up. Took a tour of the housing complex.ally2013 wrote:So I've been lurking for quite awhile...
I was wondering if anyone going to Admitted Students this weekend will give me a brief overview of what happens!
I'm attending in the fall and I really wish I could go, but I had a presentation so I couldn't make it!
Overall it was nice but you didn't miss anything vital.

I actually have a very interesting journey to my application process to W&M. I originally had not planned on applying, but was reached out to by one of the admissions counselors. She encouraged me to apply to the schools (even though the deadline was within 2 weeks) and said if I needed a waiver she would be more than happy to provide one. Of course I inquired about the waiver. I later received an email that my application was complete about 10 days later, then was in review about 10 days after that. So my application is moving quickly through the process, do you think this will effect decisions? I know that there has been varying decision timelines. Just wanted some feedback !

I'd forgotten I'd applied to W&M until another student mentioned the school at an ASD a couple days ago. Been in review since November... At this point I'd need a massive scholarship to even begin to care about this school, which I'm clearly not getting.

I think this happened to so many people. They are so passive. I don't get it. Do you not care??tony2167 wrote:I'd forgotten I'd applied to W&M until another student mentioned the school at an ASD a couple days ago. Been in review since November... I absolutely love WM after their ASW! Met tons of people (prospective and current students) who seem like people I'd like to hang out with- intelligent but fun and not pretentious. I definitely felt that the professors really care about their students and would go out of their way for them. I also really enjoyed the collegiate atmosphere- just felt like a place I want to be.
Definitely plan on going here in the Fall!

Anyone notice anything on their status checker today? Mine looks still looks the same...no updates. I wonder if we actually will get some decisions today.

Massive WL wave? Are you assuming that's what the next round of decisions will be?

Re: William & Mary c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
So their whole "we wait until the application pool is known, and release all decisions around April 1" really means that they reject/accept people on a rolling basis prior to April 1, and then wait-list the majority of people in their applicant pool when the date nears April 1? Pretty odd.2012Lsatscore wrote:There could be some admits and rejections tossed in, but yeah.InBetweenDays wrote:2012Lsatscore wrote:In each of the past three cycles (since they started doing this mass WL wave) all the decisions came out simultaneously and around noon. I would guess that they get a lot of deposits/withdrawals after ASW, so this week should pick up based on that reasoning.

There could be some admits and rejections tossed in, but yeah.
No, they accept the people that they want over the cycle and hold people they don't and WL most of them at the end of the cycle. If your a late applicant, you could still be accepted. For those of us who have been waiting for 3+ months, we will most likely be WLed.
Just look at the past cycle trends guys; its not that hard to deduce!
Ahh, I see. I failed to notice the line that says, "Applications will be initially reviewed when files become complete." I went complete on 2/11... not sure where that puts me in the cycle.
