Applied to UH back at the end of January and have gotten one status update to "In review: 3/11/13". No word since though.

I hope that I will hear something soon, and figure that more decisions will come out after the first deposit is due.

The seat deposit is due April 15 if you have heard an admission decision.crazeazn wrote:this pleasezachwooldridge wrote:Just curious, when is the first seat deposit due? For those of you who negotiated scholarships, who was your contact? How did it go? This should be interesting.

I asked for more $$ and they basically said no (very nice and politely) lol. I'm hesitant to say the name of the person I got in touch with.ajhoffman wrote:The seat deposit is due April 15 if you have heard an admission decision.crazeazn wrote:this pleasezachwooldridge wrote:Just curious, when is the first seat deposit due? hey! my friends in austin have been freaking me out by telling me that U of H is in the ghetto. How much of this is true? I am currently in DC, so I have had my fair share of sketchy-ness just fyikjotx wrote:I'm 100% set on attending, but I'm a little more of a non-traditional student. I've been out of undergrad (UVa) for almost 5 years, working in a field and industry I enjoy, and starting the part-time program this fall; I'll continue working in my field upon graduation, but just moving into the in-house counsel portion of my department [As the plans stand right now, who knows what 4 years down the road looks like?].
I actually applied last cycle and was accepted, but due to my work travel schedule, had to defer to this fall.
I've been in Houston for the past year, and am a inner-looper (Live in Montrose, just bought in the Heights, and work on the west side of the city) so if anyone has questions about the city, feel free to ask.

Does anybody know if they have/when they will start accepting regular decision part-time applicants?

I contacted Nathan Neely. If you're thinking about negotiating, he's the man to get in touch with because he's prompt and very nice. Just know that negotiating right now won't get you anywhere. He basically told me that they have no more funds to give out but they might have some after the deposit deadline. He made no guarantees though. I have some better offers from other schools so I'm debating whether or not I should put down a deposit just for the chance to negotiate after the deadline.ajhoffman wrote:The seat deposit is due April 15 if you have heard an admission decision.crazeazn wrote:this pleasezachwooldridge wrote:Just curious, when is the first seat deposit due? The campus is huge and pretty much occupies an entire side space. I live on campus right now. Its not bad at all, I have never had a problem walking alone out at 3 am on weekends. So dont worry UH is a good place to be, especially their grad housing is in the middle of the campus and pretty upscale.

Admitted today. Odds are very, very high that I'll be elsewhere in the fall, though.

Hey all! Part time student admitted Fall 2012 here; if any of the part time people have any questions, hit me up via PM (I rarely get on here, and I at least get email notifications of PMs).
Happy to answer questions for the rest of you too, but I'll be a lot more useful to the night people.
Best of luck to everyone!

I submitted my appplication late April for PT. As of May 19th, my status has been changed to "decision rendered-waitlisted." Hoping to hear good news soon. This is the only school Ive applied to.
