Not sure how much is due to self-selection, but last I checked 60+% of UMN's placement was in Minnesota whereas only 20+% of WUSTL's was in Missouri.

For me it's going to come down to Texas or Minnesota probably (esp. with Minnesota's full ride in my pocket). Texas is the better school, but I think I would rather be more likely to spend my life in Minneapolis than Austin. To some that may sound like heresy but I think Austin will become a hot Minneapolis in 15 years. ANYWAY, what I'm getting at is that I'd presume a lot of UMN students stay in the Cities because 1) They are super nice; 2) There is some biglaw there (and a lot of Fortune 500 headquarters, and a shit-ton of nonprofits if that's your bag); and 3) COL isn't really that bad; and 4) I would hazard a guess that, in a vacuum, Minnesota is a more desirable place to live than Missouri.

FWIW one of my profs told me they are upping the class size this year, taking the revenue over high medians. So I would expect medians to drop this year.

I am waiting for the admit packet and am right on the border. 166 and my UG GPA is 3.74. I have a C- that is not counted in that, but like four or five A+'s that my UG doesn't give anything extra for either. I also had like 138 credits, so changes will be minimal. That probably puts my LSAC GPA at like a 3.72-3.73. I should get my packet tomorrow, as long as the mail comes in on time. If not, I am going out of town for the weekend and wouldn't get it until Sat-Sun. I will let you guys know.

Edit: Just calculated it and it looks to be a 3.73. Like I said, right on the border, it would seem.

Thanks, you as well. And I know, right? I can't believe a C- I received six years ago could have made a $40,000 difference!

Well like, I just assumed that when it came to college you could get off the treadmill a bit, that schools would look at your transcript and be like 'oh he got a 3.5/3.67/3.75 (or whatever), he's not stupid, bring him on' but that is APPARENTLY NOT THE CASE THANKS RANKINGS METRICS
