May be too soon to ask, but since apps just officially closed, when do we expect either the next accept or reject round?

Re: Yale c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
Maybe early April as a possibility? My reviewers were super fast, and it'd behoove YLS to accept most people before ASW in mid-April so that most can attend.volp wrote:i'm guessing i wont hear back till mid-late april, if i remember this thread's wisdom correctly...
Also, I just got my acceptance binder!! That thing is HUGE. No wonder their yield is so good--I'd feel really awkward just having a binder labeled YLS if I went to another school, too...

downside to this rate is that once you post on TLS that you're in, people can relatively easily figure out who you are, haha

lol I didn't exactly try very hard to be anonymous with my LSN profile did I? Being the first in that FB group didn't exactly help either.anela00 wrote:LOL I'm pretty sure I figured out who you are too, Pacifica.pacifica wrote: downside to this rate is that once you post on TLS that you're in, people can relatively easily figure out who you are, haha

I don't really know why TLS is so paranoid with anonymity, but I guess you're freer to say crap; never been a fan of shitmouthing, so I'd rather be transparent.

I think the waitlist is usually 50 folks, and they pull about 5 eventually, but srsly, there's still about half the class to fill, so I wouldn't say WL is best-case right now for a lot of folks.az21833 wrote:time to focus on best case scenario guys. waitlist. looks like they waitlist in mid april. any intel on when they start pulling from it and what type of #s we see off of it? i imagine very small, compared to HLS. il dig through some threads later when im not getting yelled at at work

Not to be a downer, but a WL at Yale is notorious for basically being a ding. It's more something to brag about "hey, I ALMOST got into Yale."az21833 wrote:time to focus on best case scenario guys. waitlist. looks like they waitlist in mid april. any intel on when they start pulling from it and what type of #s we see off of it? i imagine very small, compared to HLS. il dig through some threads later when im not getting yelled at at work

It's a downer anyway, but it's helpful info. It's sort of a relief to know I probably don't need to bother riding the WL if that's where I end up.Yukos wrote:Not to be a downer, but a WL at Yale is notorious for basically being a ding. I mean, definitely ride it out until it stops being worthwhile (which could be until orientation starts for you) but Yale's yield is so high and so consistent that the WL isn't very important for them.sabanist wrote:It's a downer anyway, but it's helpful info. i had a friend who got off WL one day before he had to start classes at hls. he decided to pass on the offer.Yukos wrote:I mean, definitely ride it out until it stops being worthwhile (which could be until orientation starts for you) but Yale's yield is so high and so consistent that the WL isn't very important for them.sabanist wrote:It's a downer anyway, but it's helpful info. If it's not Yale it's a TTT to me.

Wow. But I don't think its fair to judge Yale until we get similar stats from H and S.CaptainTroll wrote:After reading this article, I definitely want to go to Yale. Sluts everywhere! You sure do know how to admit them, Yale.

Yeah, if you survey a workshop on masochistic sexual practices as depicted in "50 Shades of Grey" you will likely find that lots of people are into kink. The large number of virgins is also not surprising.CaptainTroll wrote:After reading this article, I definitely want to go to Yale. Sluts everywhere! You sure do know how to admit them, Yale.

Interesting that at least 4 of the TLS admits so far are non-white.pacifica wrote:lol I didn't exactly try very hard to be anonymous with my LSN profile did I?
