It's okay to send an email asking about someone else's status as long as it's in the form of an amicus curiae. You will receive a response in 3-9 months.az21833 wrote:what was the email verdict here?

I suppose it is possible that, with such high yield, that Yale only admitted the number that they plan to matriculate and utilize the WL heavily this year.az21833 wrote:sooo i guess we were all wrong abou tthe fb group size? by a lot? wonder why

It's either this or a smaller class size.kthoma23 wrote:I suppose it is possible that, with such high yield, that Yale only admitted the number that they plan to matriculate and utilize the WL heavily this year.az21833 wrote:sooo i guess we were all wrong abou tthe fb group size? by a lot? wonder why

Just got the WL email. Oh what a relief. It is finally over. Probably will end up at Chicago.

Ding. Obvi. 168/3.78.
Email says an entering class of 200. For whatever that's worth. Good luck y'all.

i can see like a 20%+ WL admit rate if FB numbers hold true along with historical yields

Can't you do both?RedShift wrote:I'm trying to decide between staying on the WL and deferring elsewhere and this is a big worry of mine.az21833 wrote:i can see like a 20%+ WL admit rate if FB numbers hold true along with historical yields

you absolutely cannot defer if you get accepted off the waitlist.
and 95% of the time schools will NOT let you commit to deferring while staying on other waitlists. its completley different than normal admission since they are reserving a position for you in NEXT years class.
i took the deferral at H/S over an impossible chance at Y

Not to burst bubbles or anything, but not everyone at ASW was on the Facebook group. So the number is probably accurate, not indicative of extra waitlist offers.

Did anyone get rejected by email but not yet receive the "U.S. Mail copy to follow?"

Does it matter? I thought I read somewhere that they don't always follow up with snail mail, could be misremembering.testaker wrote:Did anyone get rejected by email but not yet receive the "U.S. Mail copy to follow?"

Re: Yale c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
All now that cycles are over/basically over consider posting your Yale 250 in the thread on here. This is one of the few areas that TLS lacks in and we should do our part. For those who are staying on the WL at Yale I'll understand not doing so but for the rest of us, consider contributing to the community.
