Re: Tulane Law Applicants 2012-2013 Cycle
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up about the Tulane Off Campus Resident Association on Facebook. I know that the database the law school runs is pretty good, but this is another source of info/referrals (and you will need all that you can get moving to NOLA tbh).

Hope you do too!
Those numbers are definitely better than mine as well. Had really good recs and believe my tulane essay was well thought out. I don't know how much that goes for.

Emailed Tulane last week and asked for a $10,000 scholarship increase, received email today saying they had awarded me an additional $7,000. Not too bad, definitely pushes me more toward Tulane

Yes I did, I referenced my full ride to LSU. In my email I just explained that I really wanted to attend Tulane but being a Louisiana resident and already being established in Baton Rouge from undergrad I was finding it really difficult to turn down the full scholarship to LSU with the current scholarship they were offering me. I asked for the 10k increase or something around there to take some of financial burden out of the decisionsmashndash wrote:did you refence another offer to get this?geauxtigers2009 wrote:Emailed Tulane last week and asked for a $10,000 scholarship increase, received email today saying they had awarded me an additional $7,000. Ah gotcha could be in a similiar situation also an LSU undergrad, waiting on LSU's financial info in the mail. Thanks for the Info!geauxtigers2009 wrote:Yes I did, I referenced my full ride to LSU. Has anybody started looking for housing? I didn't see any forums on this topic so I thought I'd post here. Any future 1Ls or current students looking for shared space, preferably close to campus? Any idea of where I should be looking? Thanks!

Re: Tulane Law Applicants 2012-2013 Cycle
I have started looking, and I know the different areas of the city pretty well because I'm from nola. New Orleans is different than a lot of other larger cities in the sense that New Orleans doesn't have very many large apartment complexes that are owned by big developers. It is a bit inconvenient when looking for a place to live, but I prefer it this way because the city keeps its charm. The best place to look is on craigslist, and you just kind of have to give it a scan every day until you find something that you like and fits for you. Some key words that you could put in the search are: "uptown," "tulane," "garden district," "broadmoor," "loyola," "carrollton" and "university." I would suggest using google maps street view to take a look at the area the listing is in if you like one, and feel free to message me if you are unfamiliar with an area that a listing is in and want to know a little bit more.Nowak14083 wrote:Has anybody started looking for housing? I also asked for additional scholarship $ but was denied. A bit let down, but still think I am going to be sending my first deposit today, after all it is the best sports law program in the country

FINALLY just got accepted. I've been complete for months now haha.
Hopefully it comes with a decent scholarship offer... 47k/year is steep.

Your status won't change from "file complete" until you receive a decision. Tulane doesn't have a "under review" status like some other schools do.Mpalt wrote:Same here. I think I'll be staying in NOLA for law school then at this rate
Hello everybody, let's be friends. Are there other TULS threads on TLS or some other way of getting to know everyone?
