Checking in! Applied tonight with a 168/3.68 hoping to have a pretty good chance but hate the thought of waiting until December to find out !

Re: BC 2012-2013 Applicants
No, I'm talking about people that were above both medians but not hugely to the point of YP. The people let off the waitlist weren't that surprising statwise, but when you look at the people let in and the people reject in December, January and February, it looks like there were lots of surprises.Gisney wrote:skri65 wrote:Anyone else go through the BC Waiting Thread from last year? Everyone on here always says this is a number game, but I was absolutely shocked by the number of people in that thread above both medians that were waitlisted. Anyone have any guesses as to why these waitlists/rejections occurred? BC seems incredibly unpredictable. My stats are exactly median, but looking at that thread, I'd be surprised if I got in.
Have not really looked into BC particularly but usually when a school waitlists people above both medians it is a case of Yield Protecting.

If i can push my Dec LSAT too a 164 ish, where I have been PT'ing, do I have a strong chance at gaining admission or should I look elsewhere =/.
Everyone close to your LSAT and GPA was either waitlisted (including a URM) or denied, more being denied then waitlisted.

With your hopeful LSAT it is still looking like mostly waitlists but since high LSAT scores are rarer this year you might have a better shot.
I would defiantly apply to several other places because this may be a reach school. You would have a lot better shot if you could push the LSAT to the upper 160s. BC and BU both put a lot of weight on LSAT or so it seems.

Re: BC 2012-2013 Applicants
Oh I was searching for a separate waiting thread.
Anyway like you said the people off the waitlist are not surprising.
It is hard to see why some of them specifically were waitlisted but I looked at the waitlist on LSN last year around their numbers and it was usually because of applying late in the cycle with average numbers.
If you have already applied and you are at their medians, I think you have a good shot. You are not a lock but if you are waitlisted, I think you have a good shot of getting off the list.
I don't think you have cause for worrying over much!

With the drop in medians, how do you think I'm looking with a 164/3.48?

How long before you received the "someone will contact you shortly" email?emarxnj wrote:Checking in, sending app in today. 3.1 169, looks like I'm above median LSAT but as usual, below GPA. Guess we'll see how it goes.
Might be worth mentioning, when I requested a fee waiver I also received "someone will contact you shortly" e-mail, and I received the waiver about a week later.
I solicited a MB Fee-Waiver last friday and I haven't heard anything.... BU responded in 24 hours.

161, 3.35... any shot if the drop in applicants/medians trend continues this cycle?

What about 166, 3.1? Is my gpa just too low for them to look out? One of my top choices, but not holding my breathAlanShore wrote:Sorry Meyer, i think your numbers are too low... but you never know.meyersa15 wrote:161, 3.35... any shot if the drop in applicants/medians trend continues this cycle?

I don't know too much about BC, but maybe? I just got a fee waiver with a 162. I'm a URM though so that may be why. I guess I'll be joining you all in this thread, just submitted.skri65 wrote:I think you have a solid shot...LSAT trumps GPA, especially this cycle. Schools will be desperate for higher LSAT scores. My stats are 164/3.61, and my feeling is that I would much rather be an LSAT splitter along the lines of 166/3.3 than what I currently have simply because high GPA's are in high supply.WanderingPondering wrote:What about 166, 3.1?
