Just put estimated info. Or get yourself emancipated.shifty_eyed wrote:My parents are being so annoying about the NeedAccess info. "I don't what what our AGI was for 2012, we haven't done our taxes yet. Can you put a rough estimate?"
Really lame that us olds need parental info on there. Luckily NU says they don't look at it.

I agree that it's pretty obnoxious that older applicants are required to submit parental information. It feels a little silly asking my parents to fill out a NeedAccess at 31 years of age...BigZuck wrote:Just put estimated info. However, NU does not require you to submit parental information. If the NeedAccess is asking for it, it means another school on your application requires it (e.g., Duke and Columbia both require it I believe). You should check with their requirements before you assume estimates are acceptable.

That hold email update was...not at all helpful. Better than a May reevaluation, though!

Status changed so the decision in 6-8 weeks bit disappeared. Would be awesome to be in the next batch of decisions!

Yes, I am an RD hold. It just gives a vague-ish timeline of what will happen (they'll finish reviewing the applicants in the next couple of weeks, and after that, they'll start doing hold candidates in March/April). Something something about uploading letters to the decision delivery system.snapdragon25 wrote:It must have been sent to just RD held peopleemaliefaythe wrote:??? could you elaborate on this a little?amsong wrote:That hold email update was...not at all helpful. Re: Northwestern Law C/O 2016 (2012-2013 Applicants)
Got the hold email update too. I guess they couldn't re-review the held applicants by February because they extended the deadline. And they're making time for those who will apply because of this extension..
I really hope they can get around to it by March though. An April decision is just like being on a w/l for some of the other schools that start reviewing w/l in April then..
Does anyone know how being on hold at NU is different from being on the w/l??
Is being on hold better than being on the w/l? As in do hold applicants have a better chance of getting in?
Sorry if this has been address before..

Basically that they'll start reviewing most held applications in April, and linked to a page with more helpful information:LexLeon wrote:What did it say?amsong wrote:That hold email update was...not at all helpful. Better than a May reevaluation, though!

Did you get the result on Jan.22? A lot of Waitlists that day were turned into "hold". Maybe you should check your decision letter again just to make sure?slack_academic wrote:Got a HOLD email today even though I've already been waitlisted. Probably happened to some other posters (I haven't been monitoring this thread), but pretty lulzy.

So is anyone writing any of those supplemental essays? I feel like writing about a TV show/book character you'd like to meet could go horribly wrong.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
