Prof of mine is a partner at O'Melveny & Meyers (V24) in socal, and said they recruited from NU. He actually said they had more NU alums than UPenn (that he knew).

I applied to penn but I honestly haven't thought about it since. I think ill be deciding between Berk, NYU, Mich, and NU.

This is great info though!!! Gives me hope. I'm really debt-averse haha.

It depends what you mean by "trouble." You're not going to be at a real disadvantage in CA compared to any school save HYSB (possibly slightly to some of CCN). That being said, if you're aiming for something like biglaw then getting it in CA is tough in general. It's hard to go into much more detail without knowing your goals and other options.

Hopefully clerking-->biglaw, then either jump to in house or PI if I get really lucky, but still up in the air right now. Lots interests me, so trying to narrow it down as a 0L is hard.

Other options: NYU, Berk, USC w/ $$$, UCLA w/ none, Georgetown, Mich w/ $$. Probably should take Berk but want to wait til all $$$ rolls in.

Hey guys, I could use your advice on something. Application went complete on 1/9 and I have had no movement since then. 3.25/177. Financial and job constraints prevented me from flying out to Chicago for an interview. NU is one of my top choices, and I did write that in my "Why NU" essay, but the interview seems very important in their admissions process.

Would it make sense for me to send a LOCI that reiterates my love for Northwestern and explains the fact that I wish I could interview but can't afford it?

Hi, is there anyone who would like to help me ask Dean Johann on twitter that when will the decisions on 2 Year JD for International Lawyers come out? Twitter is banned in my country so I have to ask for your help. Thanks in advance. :)

Why wouldn't you email admissions?

I emailed them 10 days ago and they replied me that they estimated another few weeks before a decision has been rendered. I'm just not sure what "another few weeks" means. 2? 3? 4? or even more weeks? My application went complete on 30 November and has been reviewed for more than 10 weeks already~

Mosquito: I don't know if this is helpful, but even though the status date and status of "application complete" haven't changed. I do see the message of "Your application is now complete and is being reviewed by the Admissions Committee." at the top of the page. Is this what you see as well?

I couldn't fly out either and I knew that the deadline for off-campus interviews was December 1. I applied anyway (around mid-end December) and they said they could no longer an off-campus interview but were willing to do an 'on-campus' interview over skype. Why don't you email them your situation and say you would still be happy to interview over skype if possible. It'll show that you're interested and might help your case :)

Hey guys, didn't have time to read through the thread. What's the fin aid process with NU? Should I be waiting for an email invite to write a scholarship essay or something?

Hey twinkle, you are still in a pretty good position for Harvard and Columbia -- you sound so defeatist! Also since our cycles and $ are so similar, have you thought about your berkeley matching scholarship? its one of my top options too and I'm debating whether to wait longer for other schools to give merit aid or go for it with what I have now. for example northwestern I've heard nothing from $ wise.

hope to see you at asw!

Mine has said that for weeks. I wouldn't read too much into it.

Yay!

I can't remember-- is it via status checker or email that you get the notification? Which should I be frantically refreshing?

People receiving DLS...are you ED/RD, just RD, or something else entirely?

Also do you receive an email alerting you that a decision has been made?
(Somehow I never got an email telling me about my ED decision, but just happened to look at my status checker)

Thanks!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
