12/4 :? I didn't interview though so I'm not holding my breath.
Sorry dude. And yeah, I know 1/11 is not much of a wait compared to a lot of folks here-- but there have been decisions for some who applied after me, even, which is getting irritating.

I thought the consensus was that lack of an interview didn't break you? Or am I getting confused with Georgetown? I didn't interview either.

comeonletsgo wrote:What is the point of a hold? The letter says they'll be re-evaluating held applications (if you choose to accept the invitation) in early February. We're already in early Feb, so I'm guessing that was a mistake. But they could have just waited to render a decision, since it's not the same as WL (per the letter).

Any insight? Sorry if this has been asked before - so many pages to go through.
Hold is basically a pre-waitlist. They like you, but they wanna evaluate the rest of the cycle before making a decision. It's not an official decision though, so you could conceivably go from Hold to Waitlist (which is what happened to me last year)

FWIW, I didn't get a decision from my Hold status until May last cycle

Dinged. Was really hoping for a WL and a chance to prove myself. Good look to everyone else. I still love ya NU, you were a great place for undergrad!

Got put on Hold.

I didn't interview because it created something of a financial obstacle for me and I didn't believe I had a chance anyway. What should I do? I would be ecstatic if I could get into Northwestern. Should I write a strong LOCI? Oh my god, I'm so happy. I can't believe I wasn't straight up rejected. :P

In!
Sorry about the all the holds and dings though :(
I am happy to get my first decision, period, and have it be an admit. Optimistic about this cycle for the first time.

In! So surprised and happy since I'm a 21 year old undergrad with a 3.76/170 and obviously no work experience! Happy day

Nah, I was well below their medians. Frankly the only thing I had going for me was my WE and my AA status.
venus wrote:First ding of the cycle.
Yeah, same with me. I was probably a bit overconfident with my NYU acceptance but this NU ding has definitely brought me back to earth.
